Jodie is back for next year.

Great news but I'm sure someone is writing some kind of 'The BBC had to bring Jodie back so they could stay on their feminist agenda' post somewhere by now.

No need to doubt there's a plethora of youtube monkeys doing that.

FLYING SHARKS..

Oh come on that was fun. Sharks pulling carriages across the sky. What's not to like?

A bit naff if you ask me. Kinda felt just too fantasy, with none of the humans being affected by the atmostphere, it would have been a bit more believable if They made the cities inhabitants kinda float off the ground every now and then as if their bodies in that atmosphere start to become affected by it, then maybe the floating flying sharks would have been a bit more believeable, another thing would have been to make the sharks less Earth-like and more alien. It kinda felt like an Ode to those cheesy Sharknado movies. just a tad more science to it, then fantasy would have been a bit better is all. I mean, yea it was fun to watch, very Santa and reindeer motif at the end there.

However,
The love story and use of time travel and the scrooge parody was exquisite, which made the sharks just a background feature to the story of ignorance and power or control. It wasn't about greed, it was about power. A scared little child, turned into a Tyrant so he can't be hurt by anyone ever again. very deep, and the love story, was sad and touching.

It's weird: The Spitfires in space bother me but flying sharks with carriages don't. However, on reflection, the sharks did bother me initially but on repeated viewings, less so because I love "A Christmas Carol" so much as a whole. Maybe if "Victory of the Daleks" hadn't been such an awful episode I wouldn't be bothered so much by the Spitfires in space (or should that be in sppaaaaaccceee?).

At the end of the day Gatiss gets to say "Broadsword calling Danny Boy" which adds a point onto my rating of the episode to be honest :D

I like both the spitfires in space and the flying shark. And Moffat did admit he wrote A Christmas Carol with it in mind that airing on Christmas day meant most viewers would be drunk. So it's probably best not to think about it too much.

The Wormhole, how's the series doing? Is it in danger of cancellation or it's huge like the Tennant and Smith era? Also, do you believe the BBC will ever consider a male Doctor again?

There will be male Doctors in the future. It's already been established Time Lords can ping-pong between sexes from one regeneration to the other. What I'm hoping is that this is they do this with the Doctor specifically from now on, especially since the outcome of their regenerations seems to be far more random than, say, Romana's.

And, yes, I think ping-ponging between skin colors would be appropriate, too.

Just fine.

I'm sure it will happen at some point in the future. But in the mean time, I have no problem with the current Doctor being a woman, and I'll be fine with the next one being a woman.

I will say regardless if the next Doctor is a man or woman, I would prefer they go for someone not white.

Why? Because EVERYONE else is doing that? If there's a reason, fine, otherwise, no.
There's no reason to have a woman Doctor, and there shouldn't be a reason for a Doctor of color. The pandora's box is open and I agree, the next Doctor should be someone other than white.

Oh I can't wait for 13 to to a black man. The usual crowd will cry PC gone mad, but there'll be an added bonus of another section of fans complaining because the Doctor's male again! Unless it's a woman of colour of course but then you'll have a whole heap of “Will Doctor Who ever be a bloke again?“ headlines!

No no it will be "The Doctor is black he can't do that he's always regenerated into a white man except for that one time he was a woman."
