The Doctor and Batman are the same character!

The Doctor and Batman are the same character! No, seriously. Think about it:
  • They're both highly skilled and highly intelligent.
  • They both have a specific location they consider under their protection (Earth, Gotham).
  • They both have complicated relationships with the governments of the places they protect.
  • They both refuse to use guns.
  • Both of them know some form of Aikido.
  • Both of them are experts in acoustics.
  • Both of them can pick a lock.
  • Both have a considerable knowledge of science and technology.
  • In real live, both of them would have been dead many times over.
  • They both have hideouts with camouflaged entrances and a hidden, cavernous interior.
  • They both seem detached, but are highly compassionate under the surface.
  • Both have companions they take with them on their adventures.
  • Some of these companions end up emulating the Doctor/Batman in some fashion.
  • Most people agree that the idea of the Doctor/Batman banging his female companions is kinda gross.
  • These companions are often in insane amounts of danger, many end up eventually leaving, and some end up dead.
  • Both characters have been played by many actors over the years stretching back decades.
  • They both have actors that are considered the quintessential version of them (Tom Baker, Kevin Conroy) who are simultaneously kinda cartoon characters.
  • They both have a nemesis who is their equal and opposite... And is also completely insane.
  • They both have a large portfolio of strange villains.
  • Both have had anti-hero romantic interests (River Song/Selina Kyle).
  • Neither worries that much about money, and both of them have deep pockets.
  • They can both make their own gadgets.
  • They both SAVED MARTHA!!!
  • (Neither hooked up with Martha afterward.)
  • Both have had many different costumes over the years, some of them being extremely ridiculous.
  • Both have traveled through time and met future versions of themselves.
  • Both have fought aliens.
  • Both of them have cool cars.
  • Both look good in a cape.
  • They've both been played by actors who came from Britain.
  • They've both fought the Daleks!
  • They're both fathers.
I could go on, but I'll leave it there. Have you ever noticed how many similarities these two characters have?

Actually, the Third Doctor's pretty close to Batman. Very gadget prone, loves his car, dresses well, and is an action guy.

...which kind of raises the question, why are all the Doctors since not like the Third? You'd think Venusian aikido would be useful now and then.

I think the important question is this. Has anyone ever seen The Doctor and Batman together? I didn't think so. Proof!

Of course, if there is any evidence of them being seen together it could be just time travel. So it doesn't matter.

Conclusive proof that The Doctor is Batman.

I don’t think his parents were killed in front of him. :)
Some have compared him to Sherlock Holmes who in turn is similar to Batman so I can see the similarities.

Well, I haven't read all the novels... ;)
Car. The Doctor doesn't need a stinking car
He's had at least two cars (Bessie and the Whomobile, which sounds like a good band name), a moped, an anti-grav motorcycle, a jumbo jet provided by UNIT (although that got blown up as I recall), and a spare TARDIS he made out of junk. Just to name a few...

Oh I remember Bessie and the Whomobile. Rather liked the latter. Jon Pertwee wanted that on the show as he was a bit of a gadget freak.
