How do you rate Rosa?

Well, I'd say the bus services in the UK desperately need some love (both in fiction and reality). Transport in British fiction so often focuses on trains and cars/taxis. I think that's mostly due to the London-centric view of the country. I say more bus stuff.

I'm still wondering which company Graham works for. If it's been mentioned, I've missed it.
Probably First or Stagecoach. I believe they're the major providers in Sheffield/ South Yorkshire.

Hyperbole much?

You stated that the belief in racial equality has been forgotten in the US, or do you want to roll that back now that you can't prove it?

It would be a "massive untrue overstatement" if I had claimed that "racial" rights were being rolled back, but, I didn't. But, when the President of the US claims there are "fine people" on both sides... when one of those side is literally made up of Nazis, then, yeah, I'm going to say people might've forgotten that racism is bad.

Actually, Antifa has been far more violent and dangerous than anything on the right, and hate to break it to you, but nazis are not conservatives. At no point did the president say racism isn't bad, and at no point did anyone forget that concept. So again, nothing to back it up.

If you want to go toward hatred of Nazis, then maybe you might want to look up who Louis Farakhan is, and how the liberals refuse to denounce him. Would you like to denounce him or have you forgotten?

Which candidate said, "we want to monkey it?" Is this a fake outrage like with Roseanne? Or whenever someone's hand is in the OK position and the left goes crazy claiming it's a white supremacist symbol?

Is that a direct quote, and can you show racial intent?

Or are you just interpreting it like your liberal overlords tell you to for your outrage of the week?
When the Voting Rights Act, that helped insure minorities had access to the Constitutional rights to vote, is struck down, yeah, I'm going to say people might've forgotten that racism is bad.

Which voting rights act was struck down and when? Please elaborate? Are you saying that minorities are too stupid to get a voter ID? Are you saying voter fraud does not exist?

Which is your position here?
People who call political correctness stupid just don't like being called out for saying bigoted and sexist shit.

They aren't saying a woman can't lead a TV show... what the fuck do you think Killing Eve is? They are saying, hey, this shape changing alien, let's make her a woman now.

The only "bigoted and sexist shit" is your own comments and the attitude that they need to change a gender. I've never even heard of Killing Eve, nor do I care, but maybe if the show had something to interest me, I would watch it. That said, forcing a woman to lead a show because they can't create a character anywhere near as popular is sexist against women. Don't like being called out on your sexism, then maybe abandon the political correctness. Women don't need you for that.

Clearly what you have is a desire to be outraged at anyone that doesn't buy into any kind of political correctness.

Hate to break it to you, but you're the reason Trump won.

Thanks for that.

Antifa far more dangerous and violent than the right huh. And who killed Heather Heyer again? And look who had bombs posted to them today?

The President has made multiple racist statements and actions in his time so even if he said racism was bad why would we believe he meant it.

Probably First or Stagecoach. I believe they're the major providers in Sheffield/ South Yorkshire.
Yes, they are (I'm from Sheffield). First are the main one with Stagecoach as the second largest. However, from the first one, I got the impression he lived and worked elsewhere. He was catching the train out of there wasn't he?

You stated that the belief in racial equality has been forgotten in the US, or do you want to roll that back now that you can't prove it?

I know reading is hard when you are desperate to put people in a box, but, I said...

Sadly, in the US, it seems that's been forgotten. It bears repeating from time to time it seems.

Replying to:
"racism is bad" message got really old, really fast.

You can keep repeating your distortion, but, it doesn't make it any less so or more true.
I even gave you examples which you... didn't even respond or include.

I'll give you another example, while not racism, it's a good example of bigotry. When the White House wants to define Transgendered people out of existence, yeah, I think it's time to remind people that bigotry is bad.

Actually, Antifa has been far more violent and dangerous than anything on the right, and hate to break it to you, but nazis are not conservatives. At no point did the president say racism isn't bad, and at no point did anyone forget that concept. So again, nothing to back it up.

1. Proud Boys.
2. Oh, lordy, Nazis "are not conservative." Oh, lordy, lordy, lordy. When people forget that Nazis aren't a far right wing political philosophy, yeah, it's time to remind people that racism is bad.
3. At no point did he say racism IS bad. Trump was sued by the federal government for racist rental practices. He put out a full page ad demanding the executive of the Central Park Five--who were all innocent by the way. He demanded papers of President Obama, never any other President. And he LITERALLY said, there were "fine people" on both sides. When one side are literally Nazis.

If you want to go toward hatred of Nazis, then maybe you might want to look up who Louis Farakhan is, and how the liberals refuse to denounce him. Would you like to denounce him or have you forgotten?

Liberals denounce him. Just the other day Chelsea Clinton did on twitter. Farakhan is a hateful anti-semite. Do I pass your litmus test?

Which candidate said, "we want to monkey it?" Is this a fake outrage like with Roseanne? Or whenever someone's hand is in the OK position and the left goes crazy claiming it's a white supremacist symbol?

No one is as blind as he that shall not see.

Or are you just interpreting it like your liberal overlords tell you to for your outrage of the week?

lol

I'm sorta done doing your homework for you. If you don't know about the Voting Rights Act, you can go to google. You can read about it on wikipedia.

Does voter fraud exist? It's been known to happen, sure. In a handful of times. Not the hysterical amounts like Kris Kobach would have you believe. Not enough that justifies making it harder for everyone to vote.

The only "bigoted and sexist shit" is your own comments and the attitude that they need to change a gender. I've never even heard of Killing Eve, nor do I care, but maybe if the show had something to interest me, I would watch it.

Your ignorance isn't my problem. You should watch it. It's great.

That said, forcing a woman to lead a show because they can't create a character anywhere near as popular is sexist against women. Don't like being called out on your sexism, then maybe abandon the political correctness. Women don't need you for that.

lol. It's fun watching you have to twist reason until it surrenders to your narrative desires.

Clearly what you have is a desire to be outraged at anyone that doesn't buy into any kind of political correctness.

Nah. I just hate bigots and sexists.

Hate to break it to you, but you're the reason Trump won.

Thanks for that.

lol.
And, I'm done with this particular conversation, I've pulled it off course enough, I'm sure.

They didn't force a man on the audience for 50 years. The role was established and created for a man. Much different. And if they want a woman time lord, create a new one and run with it. Political correctness is just stupid. It's also very sexist on the part of the BBC. They are saying that a woman can't lead a tv show like this so they have to take a classic male character and turn it into a woman.
It's not the Doctor being a woman it's more that she blends into the background. She doesn't have a lot of presence. No wonder they decided to surround her with several companions.

Probably First or Stagecoach. I believe they're the major providers in Sheffield/ South Yorkshire.
Some First buses were shown in the establishing shot when he went to talk to his bus driver friends so I suspect he is a First driver.

And for the record the buses were Streetlites built by Wright Bus. :) (I for one am happy to have more trains and buses in Doctor Who)

No. They are saying a woman CAN lead a show like this because, well, in case you haven’t noticed, a woman IS leading the show,

I think she has plenty. She's just not as bombastic about it as the past few Doctors.
I have to admit when I first saw Capaldi he drove me nuts with his portrayal but I 'got it' in the end. Yet he generated an aura that set him apart, even in that first moment.

It's very clear that they wanted to force a woman on the audience, but she is nothing special.

Is there an eye roll big enough to respond to this?

This is a very poor attempt at taking words you don't understand and trying to flip them on the person directing them at you. "NO, LOOK IT'S SEXIST TO DEFINE A ROLE AS OPEN TO BEING PLAYED BY ANYONE." For fuck's sake. What a small opinion.

I'm still liking Jodi as the Doctor but the heavy handed "racism is bad" message got really old, really fast.
Someone else referred to this episode as "Quantum Leap" and I can't argue with that.
The bad guy was just the evil "mirror universe" version of Captain Jack.
More bus stuff! WTF!
Does Chibnall owe a bus driver some money?

Still waiting for a good, whiz-bang episode that makes me say "Now that's Doctor Who!"

It's really neat that you were able to pick up on the "racism is bad" subtext. I'm sure I've got a blue star around here somewhere... I just don't know how you can look at the world today and not see why a message like this is essential, no matter how "heavy handed" it may seem. From the RyanAir incident that happened literally the same day the episode aired to the multiple incidents in the US of black people having the police called on them for doing, basically, anything.

Well that's the single stupidest thing I have read today.

This change has been a long time coming. They wanted to do this after Tom Baker in the 80s but the BBC were the ones that put the veto on it. The show's creator wanted it done back then.

They were taking the train from that hilly/wooded area back to Sheffield.
I must have missed where they said that. (I do need to watch that again, as I did get a few interruptions first two weeks) There are several parts of Sheffield that are like that, so I thought they were already there at the beginning. Thing is, we decided that part was filmed in Hathersage, which wouldn't be in the same policing district (Derbyshire), so I thought it was just filling in for somewhere else.

I must have missed where they said that.

What? They were up on this big hill, Ryan threw his bike off, and Graham said he was on his own retrieving the bike because their train was leaving in 20 minutes. And then they were on the train and the Doctor fell through the roof. I thought it was clear that they were taking the train back home. I assumed it was a local train, just from the hills on the outskirts back into the town proper, not like intercity or something.

I thought it was clear that they were taking the train back home.
Yeah, but that was the point. Talk of needing to get the train made me think that they currently live elsewhere. I'm not that used to people getting trains from one part of Sheffield to another. I can't think of anywhere that's more easily accessible by train than bus (particularly as I believe drivers get free passes, unless that's stopped).

Again, it was clearly a wooded/mountainous area some distance out of town. I don't know about the geography of the area in real life, but the intent within the story was self-explanatory -- they were outside of town and took a train to get back into town. I figured it was a commuter rail thing like the Baltimore Light Rail or the Washington, DC Metro, say.
