New animated show announced... Star Wars: Resistance

They're not Red Shirts.
The idea of an ex-Imperial pilot still flying in a version of his Imperial armor raises questions about how people like him are perceived in the post-Imperial era. I imagine they're probably seen like German soldiers post-WWII, just people following orders rather than part of the evil leadership, but still, continuing to wear the uniform seems to imply that he hasn't renounced the cause.
Suddenly, this little exchange seems a lot less random...
I'm thinking it's less about not giving up the cause and more about refusing to be ashamed of what he did or why he did it. Of course we don't know what either of those things are yet, so it's impossible to say if that's a good or bad thing.
Personally I think the idea of an unrepentant ex-Imperial pilot as part of the group is a very interesting idea and I'm looking forward to see where they go with it. Particularly if it means he doesn't necessarily agree with what the First Order are about.
Yeah, having him clinging to the good old Imperial days, but choosing to fight against the First Order instead of joining them seems like an interesting storyline for that character.
From the perspective of a victim of the Empire, those might basically be the same thing. But that's the question -- what do people think about the Empire in the post-Imperial era, and how much will the show explore that? There's potentially a lot to say there, and this character could be a way to examine those issues.
That makes the show look substantially more impressive than the first trailer did.
It's not just language, though -- that's my point. I watched a clip to double-check (Greedo's portion starts at 5:06) -- Greedo in ANH had electronic voice processing to make his voice timbre sound "alien" and echoey/doubled. Presumably he'd have the same timbre no matter what language he was speaking. But the Rodians we've seen in animation (like Onaconda Farr in TCW and Fazon here) just have unprocessed, human-sounding voices.
I imagine that it varies based on experience and perspective. For some of the core worlds that was never touched by the war and did quite well from Imperial rule, the Empire may be viewed with a certain degree of nostalgia. Indeed, that's a fairly major plot point of the 'Bloodline' novel.
Of course on the other hand anyone that lived on a blockaded, occupied or stripmined world would have a decidedly negative opinion of the Empire and anyone that would walk around displaying it's symbol.
