Pleased, but not exactly surprised. They've been dropping subtle hints that this was in the works for the last few years.
They kept the same art style, but also improved the quality. Looks like they will be doing at least Bad Batch and Mandalore.
Well there's no subtitle, so it looks like they're doing more than just one arc. I think it's a safe bet that we'll at the very least get the three Ahsoka arcs, maybe a whole season's worth. Random observation: anyone else think it's weird that Anakin's hair moves now?

Great news, well now I have a really good excuse to finish watching the last couple seasons of the show. Lost track of it during the initial airing and never managed to get caught back up.
This is terrific news. We got glimpses of the Siege of Mandalore in the Ahsoka novel, and I always hoped we'd someday get to see the full story. I hope they also complete the animation on the unfinished episodes.
Holy shit! I figured we might get an announcement of a book or comic or something, but definitely not this. I was already curious about the Disney streaming service since I knew it was going to have new Marvel & Star War content, but this makes me much, much more interested.
It's 12 episodes (not 13 like I said before), and looks like it will include 'The Siege of Mandalore' based on the promo image of the painted helmet. So I don't expect it to go past those 12 episodes, as Mandalore was one of the last major battle of the war, happening concurrently with the Battle of Coruscant and Order 66 also happens during it. Also IIRC Darth Maul was at the battle, so I'd expect to see more of him.
Finally some good Star Wars news. Disney fixing a mistake they created 6 years ago. The catch is on some other silly streaming service though. Probably be on Netflix in the UK.
I've heard that one of the reasons it was cancelled was because Cartoon Network had the partial rights to it, it wasn't just Disney's doing. Besides, Disney/Cartoon Network let them release that 'Lost Missions' season after it was cancelled.
STOKED! It needs debugging. His hair seems to be modeled as something like a damped oscillator, which while maybe a good approximation isn't exactly how real hair behaves. But with Jedi Gel™, maybe it would.
I read part of the reason they cancelled it was because it was so expensive, Lucas was actually making a loss on it. He didn’t care however since he wanted it to look good.
I believe that Disney initially wanted to move away from the Prequels as far as they could. But as time would tell, it was not the best idea. So the Prequel themes were gradually reintroduced into the material. But yeah, Rebels were produced on a far smaller budget.
