USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Stripes....why not just add some flames on the sides, in homage to this:

It still looks sloppy. The smooth skin of the TOS Enterprise was intentional. Any repairs that needed to be made were designed to be made from the inside.

But that isn't modern, so we get garbage aztec patterns.

What exactly do you mean by "modern", then? You keep using that word but based on your posts I'm not sure it means what I mean when I use it.
 
The panel tiles on the STDPrise look to be modeled on those of the U.S.S. Kelvin.

"Modern" is an odd word - there's nothing all that modern looking about the ship designs in STD.

Well, they look like they were designed more recently. Isn't that what modern means?
