Hmm, turns out Tennant's contract actually was five years, good until 2010. Smith really did only have a three year contract, and had to negotiate separate contracts for both Day of the Doctor and Time of the Doctor. Which is why when Moffat began writing Day, he wasn't sure which Doctors he could use, not even Smith was guaranteed. Given Capaldi was out the door almost the moment his third season ended, I'd say he only had a three year contract.Have they actually had three-year contracts or is that something fans have assumed based on the results? I don't think I've ever seen that explicitly stated, but I'm ready to be proven wrong.
This is an odd attitude, not everyone is aware of the behind the scenes drama which goes on on the shows they watch, and regardless, if one is a Nu Who fan who never watched the classic era, why should they be required to know what went on behind the scenes back then? This is another issue I have with NuWho fans. They claim to be super fans, yet know little about the show's production history,
Has anyone connected to show even talked about how long they expect her to stay? While it's true we only assume she will leave after 3 or 4 years I wonder if anyone other than fans have talked about this to the press or something.
The General in Day of the Doctor and Hell Bent? Sure, could happen. *looks at Colin Baker and Peter Capaldi.I've just seen an actor called Ken Bones in an episode of Father Brown.
I think maybe the next Doctor should revert back to the second one :
