Whereas I think that a CGI Nimoy with a voice actor that sounds like him would be fantastic.....
Unless of course, as usual, you're just LOOKING for something to be enraged by.
Not with the quality of DSC’s CG.Whereas I think that a CGI Nimoy with a voice actor that sounds like him would be fantastic.....
Nothing says he has to be there at this exact moment. He could be on leave, he could be temporarily reassigned.At a time he has to be there?

I have zero expectations of seeing Spock on DSC. I actually think it's batshit crazy to expect that we will. You all should right-set that expectation right now.

Despite what some people want to believe, Berg and Harberts have flat-out said that people shouldn't be expecting to see Spock in DSC, but, as is par for the course in this day and age, facts don't matter in this situation and people would rather set themselves up for disappointment and disillusionment.
I'll even raise you on that one. I think people are specifically looking for a reason to be disappointed and disillusioned....
As well as setting expectations for Star Trek that are unreasonable.I'll even raise you on that one. I think people are specifically looking for a reason to be disappointed and disillusioned....
If Pike beams over to Discovery and all the action happens there, then that could easily be #NoSpock.
Before the Pike casting announcement, I was fully prepared for the idea (and quite ok with) that S2 would open with
"Acting Captain's Log...after providing assistance to the USS Enterprise, we are back on-course for Vulcan."
So...anything more than that is simply icing on the cake as far as this fan is concerned.
I would've thought that would've been cowardly. I hope they dive all the way in. "Go big or go home."
As much as I'd like to disagree with you, you're most likely right.
To pull in an example from another franchise, people stubbornly refused to accept the reality that Rey wasn't anyone special (even though the people involved with the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy had been "priming that pump" for close to two years), thus giving them a platform for manufactured outrage - and even more stubborn denial - when it turned out that what the creators had been trying to communicate to them for two years turned out to be 100% true.

You bet I'm tired. You bet.Pike is in his 40s at this point. Maybe around 42 by STD S2.
Bruce Greenwood looked like this, at a time when Christopher Pike should have been 39!:

Anson looked around Hunter's age in Inhumans;

Could pass for early 40s.
And sadly, this is what Jeffrey Hunter looked like by 1969, the year Star Trek was cancelled, and the year he died;
Only a few years after The Cage was filmed :/
Producers went out of their way to to make Burnham Spock's half-sister. They could have made her raised by a random Vulcan family, it wouldn't have changed her character one bit. But they wanted Spock, Sarek and other TOS characters in the show specifically to tie STD into TOS. We have seen "Klingons", "D7". We have now seen the "Enterprise", and we will see "Pike" (double quotes are quiet intentional). At this point if we do NOT see Spock, then wtf are producers doing setting up the Universe around Spock without actually showing him? They'll be crucified if they don't show Spock at this point. And yes, they'll be crucified if they do, and it's not up-to expectations of the fan base.
So yeah, TPTB run Star Trek in such a way that they cannot please everyone. They put themselves into that corner, there was no reason for them to do it in such a way.
