I kept waiting for Davey say "I see dead people". I guess people were losing teeth due to the gas being used to dust crops in the town. In a weird coincidence The Blacklist episode that aired the same night had a guy losing a tooth. He just pulled it out like in this episode of X-Files. Weird.

OMG, I just only now made the connection. I saw the name in the credits but promptly forgot about it probably during the commercial breaks.

Well, that was an interesting look at Skinner's history and motivations-- it's nice to know that he was inspired by Scully and Mulder, rather than hindered by them. But the ending was a bit discouraging. This gas is a bit of a weird element to introduce this close to what is probably the end of the series, when they need to be wrapping things up, especially since it's effecting Skinner. I was expecting some revelation about his relationship to Ciggy Man, but now he's been exposed to mind-control gas? If Ciggy Man has his fingers in everything, as he claims, has this been arranged so that Ciggy Man will have Skinner under his control?

I kept forgetting to watch the episode (more my forgetfulness and other things going on than any lack of interest).

The episode was a fairly straight-forward episode, but a nice little character moment for Skinner. That said, they could've done a lot more for the character and whole thing does come off rather eh.

Yea it's far from perfect. But I liked it ok enough. Liked the pacing better than in MS III. That first ep had some many quick cuts that it made my head spin. Haven't bothered to seriously rewatch it due to that.

    That.

Not the best of episodes, but still nice, old-fashioned X-Files, I enjoyed it.

I see dead people was good in this ep, he's looking like Mac from Sunny circa season 7. Hope this gas makes everyone's teeth fall out over the next few episodes and the finale is just Muldrain, Skullbot and Skinrag trying to eat corn on the cob.

So far, I'm not really pleased how this season is going. It just isn't very convincing.

Overall I've enjoyed this season, but the first two were the weakest.

    - How about that. An episode that wasn't scifi.

    - What did Mulder see on the ticket that made him throw it away?

    - I was thinking the same thing about Scully's place.

I'm still not quite sure what I thought of this one, it was definitely a bit odd.
As for the ticket, I think he threw it away because the timer on his phone said he still had three minutes left.
I figured out pretty quickly that it was all happening because he didn't tip at the AI restaurant.

    Didn't like this one.

    Didn't mind the technology parts.

But overall, it gets a meh from me.

I got a good laugh out of it, but it really was just one joke stretched out for an hour.

A cute stand-alone episode, but it seemed more like a Twilight Zone episode than part of The X Files.

I enjoyed this episode for its weirdness, even if the concept was a bit forced at times. The opening silence got to the point that it was unnatural that neither of them said anything. Why didn't Scully have her own car or just ride with Mulder? Also, it's a bit weird that there's a technological warehouse near Scully's house. And where was everyone? No one at the sushi restaurant or in the streets? How does Mulder not know his way around the D.C. area by now without the aide of a map or GPS?

Nitpicks aside, it was a fun episode, following the steps of recent episodes of Black Mirror and Electric Dreams on the idea of automation.

The future is bots and the bots are noisy.

How is the machines rising not science fiction?

I still don't get the M/S relationship, they hang out together watching movies like either good friends or a couple or friendly exes, then they have dinner dates with different rides home and Mulder has never been to Scully's house? This work/friendship/love/we-have-a-kid-together(or-not) is the weirdest thing that ever happned on this show.
