Thanks for posting that. I'm hoping that this is only for the MU (previously PU) Defiant and not a design for all Constitution class vessels in DIS. Obviously this is only my opinion, but I'm not seeing how this is an improvement over the original Connie seen in TOS. It doesn't look any more or less modern than the model created back in the 60s. It looks like a fan made kitbash in all honesty.

That is because this is a fan made kitbash. It looks wrong from the wirefram in a few ways and ot uses TOS textures, which DSC will not.

Frankly if the MU refit of the Defiant did look like the Trekyard animation I wouldn't hate on it. I'm an old school Trekkie who absolutely loves what ENT did to the Defiant with then-modern CGI and surface texturing thirteen years ago and I'm not a fan of "sexing up" an iconic pop culture design just because it can be done to appease a certain demographic, but as long as the final result we see is recognizably close enough to the TOS/DS9/ENT Connie then I'll be fine.

Engines are warm and ready. ;)

I want to see a Xindi or else I'm boycotting the show. Then blow it up with a superweapon.

Yeah that fan made ship misses the mark by a mile. You are not gonna see it look that reto and out of place

I've been told the original Enterprise was allowed to be altered by "25%" from it's 1960s look. That's a pretty vague directive, but at least it sounds like it won't be a crazy radical departure. Within those confines, you could probably change enough to bring it to modern standard.

That covers a huge amount of ground. I Mean, taking textures out, the TMP is not a huge shift from the TOS design, it might not even be 25%. Those are what stand out to many people, are the textures, not as much as the design changes themselves.
