The Dustbuster Phaser from Seasons 1 and 2 were (and still are) my favorite weapons in the Star Trek franchise. They were so underused and underrated. It's a shame they were only used on Seasons 1 and 2 on TNG because i wish they were used all throughout TNG and maybe on Deep Space 9 and Voyager.
My favorite uses of those phasers were in "The Arsenal of Freedom" where they were showcased quite a bit. That flying object thing kept blasting at Riker, Tasha, and Data. Interestingly, the first one was easy to destroy but as copies of those flying object things kept coming and the next one would get stronger than the last one! With a stronger shield too! I really like how in that episode, after Picard and Beverly fell down that hole, Data, Tasha, and Riker had to hurry up and destroy the second flying enemy object and hurry and go find Picard and Beverly before the next one! Well, they were barely able to destroy the second one.
I also like the use of this phaser in Datalore, when in the cargobay, Lore (dressed as Data and pretending to be him) took that phaser off Beverly and threatened Wesley with it. Then in the Data vs. Lore showdown, it got tossed across the room!
Ahh... memories...
