What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

Kevin Feige on plans for the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Basically, there aren't any. Stating that the deal wasn't even official yet and that whatever talks were happening were well above his pay grade, he is focusing on what has already been announced and is in development, which would take us to 2020 at minimum. If and when he actually and officially gets his hands on the characters, then he will start developing ideas.

Well, that's far too reasonable and practical. I'm sure some fans will find some way to demonize him for not planning ahead and/or come up with conspiracy theories about...something.
 
It makes sense they wouldn't make plans for the Fox characters, I think there's still a slight chance the deal could end up being blocked.

Considering that the minute the deal was announced last month people were already theorycrafting that they're going to get a random Hugh Jackman Wolverine cameo in Infinity War and Marvel has just been keeping it secret? Yeah, never underestimate the ability of the Internet to whip itself into a frenzy based on absolutely nothing of substance. (See: Star Citizen.)
 
According to Tessa Thompkins in the next Phase of the MCU, the women will "rule supreme".
So we've got Ant-Man and The Wasp, which is clearly putting a huge focus on Hope van Dyne, Captain Marvel, and now potentially a Black Widow movie. From the early reactions, it also sounds like the women in Black Panther are a highlight, with Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright especially getting a lot of praise.
I wonder if the success of Wonder Woman and the loss of Ike Perlmutter's influence has finally gotten Marvel to start giving women heroes a bigger roles?

It's about damn time this happened. Black Widow should've had her own film years ago. I hope Thompson's suggestion a few months ago for an all-female film happens, too.

Sony might now be selling off their movie and TV assets. The current CEO Kaz Hirai is steppind down, and the guy taking over for him, their current CFO Kenichiro Yoshida, has said the he sees Sony as a technology company, which has lead some people to think that he might end up selling the entertainment division.
I wonder if Disney would at least be able full control of Spider-Man and his associated characters?
If not then I have to wonder what this would mean for Spider-Man in the MCU.
 
It would mean taking down the Walls between the Spider-Man characters and the rest of the MCU. It would mean that Spider-Man can freely associate with the rest of Marvel's heroes, and Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery would be able to interact with the rest of the MCU as well.
 
Sorry, I really need to play closer attention to what I'm posting. I guess this is the hazard of posting and watching TV at the same time.
I meant what it would mean for Spider-Man in the MCU if someone other than Disney or Marvel got the Spidey and the rest of Sony's TV and movie stuff.

Apparently the rights would revert to Marvel if Sony sold off to anyone. They don't need to buy anything, because they'll get it anyways.
 
Cool, I didn't know that. So if Sony does sell off their entertainment assets then Spidey and co. go back Disney/Marvel not matter what?
 
Good to know that the rights revert back to Disney if Sony sold their entertainment division, especially considering there's no way Disney would be allowed to buy it, even if the 20th Century Fox sale falls through.
 
Honestly, Sony selling their assets is not surprising. I thought it was far more likely than Fox because their film division is easily their weakest division.

I couldn't agree more. Maybe Clark Gregg couldn't attend as TurtleTreker pointed out, but surely some of the AOS cast, not to mention the cast of Inhumans and the Netflix shows could have?
