^ Good.

If you have time, go the the ABC website and find the Wharf Review. A show put together by the usual suspects reviewing 2017. Their impersonations of Hanson and Trump are pretty good.

New lead in the search for the Beaumont Children.

It's coming up on Australia Day - there's almost always some new lead about the Beaumont Children around this time of year.

And as Media Watch have shown on occasions - it's not unknown for the media to pretty much fabricate stories relating to the case (especially the advertiser in Adelaide)

The police have said the are going to be doing some digging at the Castalloy factory and former detective Bill Hayes says it is ‘the most significant evidence to ever emerge in relation to the cold case’.

They've already looked at the Castalloy site

today tonight was crapping on about about 4 years ago.

it would be nice to find them for closure but there's so much beatup on the story by the media - claims that police were looking at new leads, digging new locations have come and gone with little truth to them.

I am going by the press conference given by the police. It was stated that they looked in the wrong place 4 years ago and now are searching a spot about 50 meters along. They have found an anomaly at that spot.

It has been said that the two witnesses, who are described as honest and believable, were only children when they were ordered to dig the hole and were confused about it exact location.

This story was told in the book ‘The Satin Man’ by Alan Whitacker. I read the book in 2013 and found it to be believable. The accuser in that book was the man’s son but the police dismissed much of what he said because he has mental health issues.

As part of Aust Day, I watched an interesting doco on ABCTV, called ;In The Wake od the May Quuen', about a ship that acted as a hauler/barge/cargo vessel, and is one of the tholdest wooden vessels in the world, its keel laid down in 1867. It's now up on ABC iView. @Miss Chicken you may have well seen this boat, as it's down at the Hobart docks. It's an insight into history I know very little about. Worth it.

I will probably be going for a walk around Hobart docks soon, mainly because I want a photo of Sammy the Seal, I will however take a photo of the May Queen.

I hope they don’t mess with Tasmania’s Green Card. One of my sons does not have a debit card, neither does my best friend - she still uses a bank book and it was hard to get her to even accept the Green Card.

Well, this sucks *yet again)

It has been revealed Queensland’s Go, Melbourne’s Myki and Sydney’s Opal travel cards are set to be ditched as part of a major public transport shakeup.

The LNP futzing with the public transport systems disgusts me.

How many freaking ticket systems have we had.. there were rumours that there's a warehouse somewhere filled with the stupid scratch cards of yore. What's wrong with myki? It works well, the same system is used all over the world.

I'm a little leery of the idea that it comes straight out of your bank account, does it record every time you use it on your transactions?! That's got a gazillion things wrong with it.

I hate the Opal card, I knew it was a con from day one, and that prices have been steadily rising, making it more expensive that what it replaced.

And yes, just using your ordinary eftcard is going to be problematic at best!

In NSW our Premier ujsed to be the Min for Transport, asnd she introduced a terrible timetable. Fuck the LNP! State and Fed!

The weather is so ridiculous. After sweating through it being 30 degrees all night two nights ago it's now 16 degrees and I'm shivering because I was rained on. I am actually cold.

I'm liking it today more than yesterday. Much better.

On the replacement of the transport cards - not sure how I feel at the moment, as I want to know more information. I do like the current system.
