This was a fantastic episode. Very tense...had a real sense of danger, interestingly more so than the Klingon War. The details, uniforms, adornments...wow.

The performances from Latif and Martin-Green were very good. Latif has hit the last two episodes out of the frigging park. Mary Wiseman was great...looking forward to more Captain Killy. My heart goes out to the loss of the episode. Yikes. I am really not looking forward to the aftermath there.

It was great to see the Shenzhou again. Looking forward to life aboard a MU ship again!

Agony booths!

I can appreciate that you seem to like the character. Unfortunately for me, not so much. I would like her a tad bit more if she was blown out an airlock (Tilly the character - not Mary Weisman)

Well, yes, I get that, but I'm just wondering if the character's self-awareness is an effort to make the character more palatable to those who don't like her (and if so, is it effective)?

Was this the first time the word asshole being used in Star Trek? And a good use it was, props to Captain Killy

Was that a goatee'd mirror Sarek in next episode' preview?

Closest we ever got was Scotty saying "jackass" in reference to Mudd in "Mudd's Women". So, if you don't count that, then yup.

While subtle isn't really in the Empire's wheelhouse, not every ship the ISS We're Coming To Kill You .

They're the Discovery because they are out discovering new people to murder/conquer.

I got the impression that that was a trailer for the entire second part of the season, not just the next episode. Not that I wouldn't mind if next week had that much stuff packed into it.

Really? Either way, I'm stoked.

The Defiant - Here's what a Constitution class Starship looks like - at least the outline.

Remember though - if that's the current version of the Defiant in the Mirror Universe; they've had 110 years to learn and modify its systems, so I wouldn't expect it to look like a stock Constitution Class of our Universe. And even if that is what the final version of the U.S.S. Defiant was ultimately modified to by Terran Empire engineers over the years post ENT - "In A Mirror Darkly"; that would explain the differences.

Perhaps Culber is brought back once/if Stamets develops powers to go along with his Gary Mitchell eyes.

Did they say that Mirror-Lorca tried to overthrow the Emperor and that as a result, the Buran was destroyed?
Yes, he lead a coup

Though it says the Buran was destroyed because he killed Michael

Which makes me think Mirror Michael and the Emperor know each other.

So Tyler/Voq may not be going away given that his sleeper conditioning is unstable. It could possibly be neutralized, or at least made dormant for some interesting "Tyler loses his shit" type episodes.

Again, at least as long as they're in the Mirror Universe, he's created a neat alibi when he told Burnam to basically ignore anything he does in the Mirror Universe!
