While I am a fan of both Voyager and DS9, I am a huge believer that TNG is by far the very best of all the Star Trek series'. I think that TNG had the best cast, the best plots, the best writing, the best acting... However, I must make a confession. I feel that when it comes to overall character development, I feel that DS9 is second to none. Does anyone else agree? What are your thoughts?

I grew up with TNG in my early teens, so that always feels like home to me. But when I much later actually started watching DS9 with an open mind, I couldn't help but surrender. It has many of the best stories, the best politics, the best cast, the most interesting characters, the best character development, much more convincing shades of grey... and the most consistent quality (fewer rubbish/meh episodes).

    And the Cardassians.

Definitely DS9 on 1st place and TNG on 2nd.

TOS all the way. It started everything with a great mix of characters and fun adventures.

TOS is my favorite. DS9 is a close runner-up. Discovery could potentially dislodge one of them but I'll reserve judgment until we're further along into the series.

First person who says "The Orville" is getting a week-long ban.

TNG and Voyager are my favorites, though I find something to enjoy in all the series.

Star Trek. No series have beaten the chemistry of Kirk and Spock.

Daredevil, Breaking Bad, West Wing. My tastes can be eclectic. Other shows can include Firefly, Deadwood, Batman: The Animated Series (I'm showing my age), and so on. I don't think I can come up with a Best TV series.

TOS started it all. Then TNG kind of restarted it again.
TNG was like modernised Original Series and then for a long time everything was molded like TNG.
Being 80s child, I guess TNG started Star Trek for me.
Also, TNG is my favorite Trek series. Actually, I think TNG is my favorite series of all time.

    I am a Niner!

They have a great cast of main and supporting characters, all of whom have great stories and arcs to them. It's looking at the grittier side of Trek, where not everyone is a saint in paradise. Even in the midst of a dark and gloomy war they still had moments of light shine through.

TNG is in second place for me.

I liked what I saw of 30 Rock, but I kinda drifted away from regular TV viewing in its second or third season and saw nothing of its later seasons.

DS9. Strongest characterization, best stories with multi-season arcs. It's great. The S4 opening is also my favorite.
