Will the FBI lady go away? Or will she get in on the secret?

And what will become of the kid?

    Batman confirmed! :techman:

This would be an excellent opportunity to bring Roy back. That's what I thought they were going for when Oliver said he's working on something, and when he talked to Diggle I thought he was gonna ask him to be William's guardian if something should happen to Ollie, not that he die in his place, so that felt off.

But Diggle being GA is obviously not going to last long, and I seriously doubt they'll throw Watson's suspicions off even for a second when the Green Arrow suddenly stops using a bow and grows twice the size... ;)

Not keen on Wild Dog's new costume... it's too brown and generic, the last one had the benefit of both being comic accurate and visually distinct (and cheap), so not sure why they changed that.
Black Canary's is okayish, better than the previous ones, but I still would have gone with fishnets. :D

I visibly cringed when Felicity asked if Curtis "coded in SQL or Java." Not even going into how silly of a question that is, she didn't even pronounce it as "Sequel" like normal people do...

What would be really cool is that Batman on Earths 1 & 38 both appeared on 'Arrow' & 'Supergirl' respectively, played by the dame actor but there could be differences such as different looks to the costume, and maybe played slightly differently. On the subject of flashbacks I've an idea (if there's a seventh season), there could be flashbacks to the villain's history and rise to where they are when the season starts ala the Robert De Niro scenes in 'The Godfather Part 2'.

Well, Bruce Wayne confirmed; for all we know, his parents were never murdered on Earth-1. Although the Oracle in-joke and the implicit existence of Harley Quinn suggest that Batman does exist.

Dealing with Watson isn't one of Ollie's reasons for doing this. He's dealt with investigations before. This is all about being a father. People may notice that a different person has adopted the mantle, but that doesn't matter to Ollie -- he just wants the city's protector to remain active.

It does seem odd, thought, that over in Central City we have Kid Flash and Vibe working hand-in-hand with the CCPD (as seen in their takedown of Peek-a-boo last week), yet the Green Arrow is still wanted by the FBI. I mean, last season, President Brayden honored GA and Team Arrow along with the other heroes who fought off the Dominators, so wouldn't that mean the government is okay with him now? Even if he's technically still wanted for past offenses, wouldn't the White House and ARGUS have maybe leaned on the Bureau to ease off?

I guess Cisco finally talked Rene into letting him design an upgrade. We know how much he loves building new supersuits. ;)

I'm not computer-literate enough to know what the problem with that is, but I did suspect that if their jargon was nonsense, I'd surely hear about it today on the BBS...

Aha, but the implication of Oliver's statement is that it would be preposterous if Bruce Wayne was secretly a vigilante, which means he is often in the tabloids to be well known throughout the country and his public persona is likely that of a spoiled frivolous rich playboy.

But Bruce wouldn't have that public image if he wasn't the Batman, he'd just be an upstanding citizen and a moral paragon in Gotham, the sort of person who would avoid tabloids instead of court them and who works tirelessly (and legitimately) to make Gotham better (possibly even married to Selina with a bunch of kids :D)

So Batman is definitely confirmed. :techman:

That's why this feels very out of character for him, I get that he would want that, but to actually ask someone to take a risk he himself is unwilling to take just does not seem very Oliver.

Kid Flash and Vibe didn't kill anyone so there's that, and neither did Barry... well no one from Earth-1 at least.

Sort of if I asked you what you write in, Excel or Word?

I took a college class in SQL and none of my classmates or the instructor called it that.

I've never heard anyone pronounce it 'sequel'.

    They just spelled it out.

Our IT guys frequently use sequel (when referring to some servers anyway). It seems to be the non IT people who spell it out where I work. (There is one who insists on using Squeel though:D )

As for using Excel to write in, one of the staff did tend to do that for form letters (claimed it was easier to just change the address that way). If they were dragging the address out of one of the other systems, I couldn't say they were wrong either.

It's "Sequel" where I work. Though it's funny to think of Curtis writing database procedures when he has little spheres that can catch up to a missile in flight and jam them.

If that's your fanon at this time, outstanding. But, as Christopher noted, it's not confirmation. Besides, we already know from The Flash that the Bat-Signal isn't a known thing on Earth-1, since he thought he got the idea for his Flash-Signal from a comic book... which, one could just as plausibly argue, was confirmation of non-Batman.

Or that Batman exists but is not widely known. If there is an Earth-1 Batman, he must be quite the loner, given his lack of contact with the rest of the heroes.

Or they just don't use the Bat-Signal. It may have made some degree of sense in the '40s or '50s, but these days, it'd be far simpler for Batman to get his signals via an anonymous Twitter account, or to give Commissioner Gordon a burner Batphone to call him on. Not to mention, with all the light pollution in big cities these days, would the Bat-Signal even be visible in the sky?

I thought it was pretty cruel for Oliver to ask Diggle to risk his son losing a father when Ollie was unwilling to do the same. I get that Diggle's son would still have his mom if Digs died, but we've already seen that being the head of ARGUS isn't exactly a risk free job so there's no guarantee his kid wouldn't end up an orphan.

And another thing... if Dinah didn't like the idea of the first mate on this ship of superheroes being less than 100 %, what the heck is she going to think when Diggle turns into the captain?

I know Nothing about tech companies / writing code, but a company with Felicity & Curtis would be AWESOME. :bolian:

Now if they could just convince Cisco to join....

I don't know. Especially if the FBI is suspicious that Oliver might be using his role as mayor to utilize his role as a vigilante. Oliver's reputation as a politician is not that sterling.

I'm in IT, systems administration, work directly with my database guy, as well as dozens of IT partners adn vendors, we all say "sequel".

The reason why it's wrong is that SQL is not a programming language, it's a query language used to communicate with databases. You use SQL, not write in it. You can write queries for the SQL database, but the SQL database itself is not what you code in.

Second comment, I really liked this episode... except I was disappointed to see just how far Anatoly was willing to go against Oliver... he was so great as an ally, but he does make an excellent antagonist too.

I noticed that in the next episode preview, Dig as GA is using a crossbow- makes sense given his training in firearms and his nerve damage may make using a lever action compound like the Oneida Kestral Oliver uses.

Ok, can Oliver go 5 seconds without giving up being Green Arrow? I'm beyond sick of it. Why don't the writers just move on? Do they think having Oliver do this "Will he or won't he" bullshit over and over and over is compelling? It wasn't compelling the first time he did it. At the 3,456th time its infuriating. So, good bye Arrow. I'll watch your crossover episode, but once again you're getting dropped. That's Arrow and LoT gone, with Supergirl on the edge. I hope Black Lightning is good, I'd like another CWDC show besides The Flash to really like.

I like the story idea of Diggle taking over as Green Arrow, and I'm glad it's more than a one-week thing (and they even did a new version of the narration for it!), but he's just too burly to look good in that suit and hood. Maybe a new costume design would help. Also, his voice is so deep that the modulator seems redundant.

I think it's kinda cool that the current iteration of the field team has no white men on it.

Also cool: The main title card now includes logos for all the team members. There's a bird emblem for Black Canary, Wild Dog's mascot logo, a T for Mr. Terrific, a stylized eye for Overwatch, a helmet for Spartan, and finally the arrowhead for Green Arrow. Although the Spartan logo was absent this week. That makes two Arrowverse shows, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow, that use "roll call of logos" opening title cards. (As it happens, Marvel's Inhumans does the same thing.) I guess Team Flash doesn't have enough actual superheroes on it to do that kind of opening -- just Flash and (formerly) Kid Flash, who use the same logo, and Vibe, who doesn't seem to have a logo. And on Supergirl, Martian Manhunter isn't usually active in the field, and Guardian doesn't really work with the team regularly. And I don't think either one of them has a logo.
