I was trying to see how much they changed the original mirror empire emblem, but it is hard to see.

Looking at the photo again: Does this confirm that mirror Lorca will be running around barefoot?

Lt. Commander Airiam. Mirror Lorca really likes robots.

Maybe this will somehow explain Lorca's weird eyes...

So much for all the reboot theories. Mirror Lorca goes with no boots at all.

The mirror universe episodes will definitely further the story ark which could make for some compelling episodes. I'm excited to see what they do

Is a Ferengi going to die in each of the STD MU episodes? That may be worth the price of admission right there.

Of course they could do whatever. The mirror fleet has all cylindrical warp nacelles, Terran Empire uniforms based on USS Defiant's uniforms. ISS Ares under Captain Garth. Just about anyplace.

I really hate the mirror universe. I wish they'd leave it alone. It was fun the first time because the charmingly dorky TOS could make anything work. Ever since then it's been the source of one tedious storyline after another though.

Looks like an upside-down Starfleet arrowhead with a sword through it to me.

Right, I thought it looked like the upside down delta, but I that was about all I could make out.

The problem I had with the mirror DS9 episodes was that it tried to make us care about what happened to the MU characters, which we didn't. An episode where Discovery accidentally spore drives into the MU and has to find a way home sounds like it wouldn't be awful, but I still wish they'd stuck to the regular universe.

It would be a fun change of pace to have a mirror universe Discovery end up in the prime universe instead, but it's probably a little less plausible.

First episode features the USS Discovery accidentally spore driven into the mirror universe, where shenanigans ensue.

Second episode features the ISS Discovery managing to follow the USS Discovery into our universe, where shenanigans ensue.

I cared about them in the first episode. O'Brien's speech about wanting more from life is actually kind of moving. You can feel Sisko's hatred for his mistreatment even if he pretends he doesn't care. KIra is a bad person but she gets upset that Odo is killed and she was kind of like Dukat in how she would want the slaves to be treated not so harsh and thought they should be grateful for that. Quark was actually a decent guy who was willing to help KIra and while he still had profit in mind he wasn't filled with some of the typical sexism or bad behavior stuff of the real Quark. ODO is kind of hard to care about because he might be the worst person on the station but it is kind of interesting just how dark he would be capable off in a different enviroment.

He was promoted to admiral and then assassinated.

That interview might suggest that there will be once again MU arc... After all, there were plans for that on Enterprise as well.

Fact: the producers continue to urge fans to be patient, that 1) apparent canon contradictions will be explained; and 2) we will end up with the "optimistic Trek" of TOS.

For both of these to happen, it would have involve significant change over the remaining 9 episodes. In fact I don't see how you can get there without something like multiple universes, time travel etc. Including the MU involves a significant change and an alternate unuverse, especially if we are talking multiple MU episodes. It's seems reasonable that the MU would play an important role in the story, not just a couple of side episodes.

Or maybe my thinking is completely off.

    Or the producers are lying.
