Too bad Georgiou didn't survive the boarding party fiasco to make an addendum to her will...Which in turn sent Burnham on a lovely little guilt trip, aided along by the dearlydigesteddeparted.
It's like the general store in O Brother, Where Art Thou? where it's a geographical oddity.I don't understand why the Klingons waited six months to go get the part they needed? It just doesn't make any sense, except for the writers needing them to wait around for the Federation story to catch up.
Which is troubling, since T'Kuvma is dead. So imagine how slurred T'Kuvma was speaking when alive. Now think of that with the extra "ghostly" waver to his voice.Post Europa - it is incomprehensible why Starfleet would get the various escape pods but NOT destroy the ship that was wounded and/or take the cloaking device - if nothing else to prevent the Klingons from using it. Sorry but much as i'm enjoying the series, it seems that Voq was floating around for six months doing nothing but appealing to T'Kuvma for guidance.

He actually spoke the title of the episode, but nobody knew what the hell a lamb is.Which is troubling, since T'Kuvma is dead. So imagine how slurred T'Kuvma was speaking when alive. Now think of that with the extra "ghostly" waver to his voice.
"Eat the Starfleet Captain" was actually "Send out for pizza and ask for a new dilithium processor", but no one could understand the spirit of T'Kuvma!
I got the impression that when Europa did a forced antimatter containment dump it took the "wedge ship" out with it completely. There may have been nothing much left to destroy and/or salvage.Post Europa - it is incomprehensible why Starfleet would get the various escape pods but NOT destroy the ship that was wounded and/or take the cloaking device - if nothing else to prevent the Klingons from using it. Maybe what you (and others) are really saying here is something like 'I don't have a plausible alternate explanation, but I'm just not ready to accept the consensus opinion unless I get on screen confirmation'. I understand this. I'v been there.I have no problem with the idea that it may be the same telescope and was evacuated from the ship along with the crew. But I find your objections to there being different telescopes unconvincing.

The problem is that , in this case, I don't think we'll get any further explanation because I don't think the writers think further explanation is required, because they probably think what they intended was obvious. Also, because the 'how' just isn't vital to Michael and Phillipa's personal arc..
I find that when it happens this way, when no further explanation is offered, it is a sign that the writers intend for us to accept the most likely, most plausible, explanation.
The down side to this, however, is that it gives the appearance that we may have yet another group of Trek writers who don't understand our capacity to get caught up in MOTHERFUCKING UNIMPORTANT MINUTIAE! No offense to you personally grendalsbayne.![]()
All I'm saying is that, based on the evidence so far, it is equally plausible that it's the same telescope or that it isn't. Until something on screen changes that, everyone should imagine their own preferred scenario is correct. But in either case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the telescope still being around.
I think the fact that it is missing from Georgiou's Ready Room when Voq goes there is about all the confirmation you're going to get.
It works for me. I believe it is the same telescope.
I don't think that's confirmation of anything.
All this traffic about a telescope? Seriously, who the fuck cares?
Why else would the telescope be gone? No one's been on the Shenzhou for six months.
Needs of the plot. If they need the ship to remain intact it won't blow up.
