That's how I took that - different telescope. It was a telescope, rather than the telescope.

Starfleet didn't get the telescope. They somehow got the box containing the will and telescope. Georgiou put the telescope in the box. It may not even be the telescope from Shenzou. She said it belonged to her family for a long time.
I think we may be over thinking it a bit, guys. The only on screen evidence concerning the identification of the telescope (that was given to Burnham) was holo Phillipa stating that whatever she was giving to Burnham had been in her family for centuries. There's no on screen evidence that it is a duplicate or refurbished, or anything but the telescope that belonged to Georgiou as seen in the first episode. I can see keeping dups of things you collect, but this was a family heirloom.

Because it is the telescope that belonged to Georgiou, (according to the holo), apparently someone grabbed it when the Shenzou was evacuated. Then, whoever went through Georgiou's stuff, likely a family member, found that it was Georgiou's wish that it be given to Burnham and sent it on.

Enterprise was IMHO a better show than Voyager, but that wasn't saying much. Still, if their positions were reversed, I have no doubt that Enterprise would have gotten seven seasons, and Voyager would have been canceled.

I kinda liked Voyager, and just started watching Enterprise.

I will never, ever forgive Voyager for Neelix though. It’s the first and so far only Star Trek character that would throw me into fits of near Trek-homocidal rage.

Nej, maybe its because Im uses to subtitles, but I don’t think they’re THAT bad.

I have no problem
You don't say ;)

The Americans had about 25% of the show in Russian, with subtitles. It does seem a shame here though as you end up missing the visual glory of the show (or missing the dialog).
I watch everything with Subtitles, I am in Greece and thank the Gods, we do not used
  • Probably not. Not sure which character is the "anti-hero" though.
  • Of course it is. Pretty much the point of her arc.
  • Seems pretty Star Trekky to me. The difference is the dilemmas aren't solved in an hour and rehashed every other week.
  • Huh?

  • Michael and Lorca are fine examples of anti-heros (or they think they are)
  • Will try to rephrase it. Shallow and bad writing as long as it gives us cool dramatic scenes or "heroes". Style over substance. Dark just for the darkness of it, etc etc etc. Whatever they think it will be cool to attract new audience .

The Telescope is also missing when the Klingons beam over last episode.

L'Rell said she would take Voq to the the Mokai Matriarchs to "expose him to things... But it comes at a cost". Does anyone think he will be exposed to the augment virus and the cost will be his ridges? What else does he have to lose?

I really hope that's not it, but probably it is exactly that.

So... Are we gonna call the death in this episode what it is... the 1st RED SHIRT DEATH in DISCO ?
I mean, we all saw it coming a mile away, right ?
Let's see, got my big ass gun, check. Got my pointy stick to poke the critter with, check.
Got my lucky RED socks on, check. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG ?
~ IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ~ She's Dead, Jim
It's like the writers were like "hey we need to have at least 1 red shirt style death in this show"
Let's make it the "Head Of Security !" Trek fans will get this...
;-)

Well they are going to have to address that eventually, not like they can just ignore the augment virus since it's part of canon.

  • Neither strikes me as an anti-hero, especially Michael. She's doing straight up hero stuff.
  • Not finding the writing any more "shallow" or bad that bast Star Trek. Nor am I seeing style over substance. I think the show could actually use a little more style. ;) I dont think they're being dark for darkness's sakes or even trying to be "cool". They are try to tell Star Trek stories using modern styles and techniques. Heavy serialization and modern adult drama.

If it is the same telescope how did it wind up in that case with a special message from Georgiou? Did who ever grabbed it turn it over to Georgiou's family or executor? And why did they grab that item?

So we're in the prime timeline but the vast majority of Klingons are shocked and surprised and want the old ships cloaking device?

His Colour?

Actually, some random security guy was the creature's lunch last week aboard the USS Glenn. Classic red shirt death.

Klingons did not have Cloaking tech until STIII:TSFS (and probably only because originally, they were going to be Romulans as the antagonists. <--- That was changed because producers were worried non-Star Trek fans might get confused as Klingons were in both ST:TMP and the simulator in STII:TWoK.)

Saru or someone else grabbed it when they evacuated the ship. They probably took plenty of other stuff too. This is really not a problem.
