News Kurtzman: Setting Up Season Two of Star Trek: Discovery

What if season two follows a time jump and the ship finds itself in the future and stuck their? You could end up getting that post TNG show some have wanted and a chance to explore not only a ship out of time but new aliens as well along with the old ones also.

I like it. It might salvage STD.

Since this season is all about Burnham's journey, learning about the ship and crew and unravelling it's mysteries, I'm curious what S2 might be like. Once we know what everyone's up to and why, and the war is settled, what next?

Hopefully not Planet of the Week™.

I think they will stick to arc based seasons. Its one thing you like or you dislike and I love that style myself. There is so much to explore in this era and so much we have seen so far we could dig into.

Season 2 - Journey of a thousand ridges. The Klingons, sad and dissatisfied with their middle-class existence, load up the minivan with batleths and backpacks. They are going to hike across Qo'nos to discover the truth about life, love, and foreheads... That is until they stumble across the old dilithium mine with the secret legend of Cu'rly's Gold! Wackiness ensues.

The Star Trek: A Discovery Season 2, coming to a television set near you. Now in exciting color! Stay tuned next for Gilligan's Island and later C.H.I.P.S. Don't touch that Dial.

I'd love to see season 2 be a longer, far more complicated version of the TNG episode "The Chase". Obviously with a different, more thoughtful and meaningful conclusion.

That's how you do an "exploration arc" while keeping the broader universe perspective in play and avoid it being POW.

It would be like an elongated, fun, sci-if Indiana Jones adventure

Planet of the week is the only concept that could save STD in the second season.
