It was at that stage he was really not thinking clearly, as well as having folks like Maizlish and Richard Arnold forcing his hand on things, more than before.Fair enough.

No need to. You know what you did and are prepared to pay for your crimes.I feel shame and regret.
Me too. I've met and spoke with Richard Arnold at cons here and there. Very nice man, great to talk with. However, I think it really went to his head when he was working for Roddenberry. Those two abused their relationship with Roddenberry. Was delighted to know both were kicked to the curb by Paramount when he passed.

Not season two! This calls for the stiffest penalty possible. Making him watch season two Space:1999 reruns for the rest of his natural life!![]()
Not season two!
I like the idea, but everyone knows that Gene is a bird, not an elephant.![]()
But, you were okay with Star Trek: Nemesis badly ripping off STII:TWoK in 2002?So ripping off Khan in almost every movie afterward was an original idea? How about "The Naked Now", which not only ripped off a TOS episode, but used part of the title!
Shall I continue?
Those are completely different...completely different. But, you were okay with Star trek: Nemesis badly ripping off STII:TWoK in 2002?<--- It tried a more beat for beat 'by the numbers'm ripoff then STID (IMO). The entire Warp Reactor was more a homage and intentinally flipped version; but Spock had the emotional outburst because of what he himself felt when he Mind melded with Pike at the moment of Pike's death earlier in the film.
I also find it interesting some fans find Kirk's resurrection via Khan's magic blood (an d it's not like Bones have his body a shot of it and he snapped back to life, it was touch and go and he was in the hospital for weeks) more ridiculous then Spock's regeneration to a young boy because of a magic torpedo designed to work on a Planetary body; but somehow when exploded in a Nebula - it's software adjusted and managed to create BOTH a new star and a new planet. <--- Yeah, that really sounds 100% plausible...![]()
Actually, Nemesis was a crappy riff on Le Morte d'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory. Obvious and ham-handed.But, you were okay with Star trek: Nemesis badly ripping off STII:TWoK in 2002?
Those are completely different...completely different.
Why do people not seem to get that The Naked Now was an intentional remake? It wasn't like they were sneaky about it. They even reference the original episode in the episode. But 30 years later fans still complain that they did something crooked. So ripping off Khan in almost every movie afterward was an original idea? How about "The Naked Now", which not only ripped off a TOS episode, but used part of the title!
Shall I continue?
Thank you for recognizing that both things are possible. (I haven't talked to him in nearly 30 years! Yikes!)Me too. I've met and spoke with Richard Arnold at cons here and there. Very nice man, great to talk with. However, I think it really went to his head when he was working for Roddenberry.
Latter is obviously way more ridiculous. But it was dramatically much (MUCH!) better.I also find it interesting some fans find Kirk's resurrection via Khan's magic blood (an d it's not like Bones have his body a shot of it and he snapped back to life, it was touch and go and he was in the hospital for weeks) more ridiculous then Spock's regeneration to a young boy because of a magic torpedo designed to work on a Planetary body; but somehow when exploded in a Nebula - it's software adjusted and managed to create BOTH a new star and a new planet. <--- Yeah, that really sounds 100% plausible...![]()
How many "runaway bride" episodes have there been? How many times has Trek ripped itself off?
