Anyone pick up a NES mini today? Or planning on getting one eventually?

Well, no surprise:

Something tells me the odds of actually getting this for retail price will be about the same as the NES Classic. Meaning that most of the people who want one will probably never see one outside of images/videos/etc. I seriously doubt Nintendo cares about any shortage problems.

That said, it looks cool and has a nice selection of games.

I think this will be even more popular and less likely to get than a NES Classic. Nintendo makes the shortages on purpose to drum up people talking about them.

I know what I'll be pre-pre-pre ordering for Christmas.. Disappointed that it doesn't come with the NCAA basketball game, however.. I really like that one.. But the wife will be wanting this for sure...

Starfox 2 is definitely a +1 :p

Some gameplay video has come out and it looks to be running around like 7fps at some points. Oof.

Also, the SNES Classic has been confirmed to have five-foot controller cords. C'mon, Nintendo, you're better than this.

Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.

Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

Pretty sure I'm going to go raspberry pi route and make my own. Then it'll be the NES and SNES all in one fun box. And can buy cases for these units now that look like the old NES (but tiny), so that's kinda fun...

Same. The Pi 3 can handle that entire era like a dream and it offers so many more options.

Although really, I'll probably just put shit on my GPD Win so I can play everything on the go.

When I was in elementary school, some kid in my class claimed that his dad tried to invent a new video game system himself with parts from NESes and VCRs. When he plugged it in, it blew up. :wtf:

Another kid's dad was a scientist who went to Venus.

Speaking of making your own I found some videos of a Sega Master System where the case and all was made of legos. Circuitry and all is the same but the outside case was all legos.

Ordered a SNES classic yesterday. Not sure if I got lucky, or if Nintendo really are shipping more units this time.

Less games aboard, for a higher price, compared to NES Classuc. But to be fair some of the NES games were very early, primitive stuff that I'd never spend much time on (see: non-super mario). Also, this one comes with 2 controllers.

Looking forward to getting regularly beaten by Kestra at Mario Kart...

I got off from work about 11:30 last night, and decided "Fuck it," and went to Walmart and stood in line. I wasn't expecting anything, but I lucked into a Switch using the same method. Lo and behold, I walked out with an SNES mini! :)

I got my Classic Super Minintendo today.

I preordered it a month ago from an online retailer, after the fiasco with the NES and nobody able to get one.

Anyway, going into town to buy a power adapter for it, the store I went to has loads of SNESes in stock.

Typical.
