What are you talking about?
I can see Lister's Dad.
He's standing right there.
Are the cloaking devices a canon violation?
I really need to know.
No, that's the first time they had it.No, thats just the first time the audience sees them using one.
And, in case you don't count TAS, Kor mentions it again in "Once More Unto the Breach".No, that's the first time they had it.
The Animated series was very specific in that given it was the main plot point of the episode.
It's possible she either had no living relatives (or none willing or capable of taking the responsibility to raise her to adulthood.)What I am curious about is why would she not go to live with her grandparents or a aunt or something after her parents died? I wonder if they will explain this. Also I am confused. Did she go to Starfleet Academy because when she arrives she is wearing a Vulcan outfit and hairstyle that doesn't prove anything but I think it does supose to make you think she has been living on Vulcan.

There was only a 'big space battle' in the second episode - and the reason for it was clear: T'Kuvma was going to use a 'glorious war' to re-unite the Klingon Empire; and further that the Federation was an enemy to the Empire that had no Honor; and spreads their lie of: "We come in Peace."I didn't really care for the space battles. I was wondering why we were having space battles, honestly. Yeah, Klingons like to fight, they LIVE to fight, but space battle this early in the series? Yes, DS9's "Emissary" started with the battle at Wolf 359, but it quickly turned into a message of hope, of renewal, of change that lead to a positive path by the end of the pilot. By the end of DSC's second episode, or part 2 of the pilot if we're being at all fair, fuck you CBS, I was just depressed and dispirited. I don't want nuBSG. I don't want NCIS or Seal Team Six in space. I don't want a war series. I'm hoping the third episode will bring me back fully on board. I want it to win me over, very badly.
Yes, in the pilot there's a space battle. We're not two hours into the series, and there's a major space battle. I didn't like that. There was only a 'big space battle' in the second episode - and the reason for it was clear: T'Kuvma was going to use a 'glorious war' to re-unite the Klingon Empire; and further that the Federation was an enemy to the Empire that had no Honor; and spreads their lie of: "We come in Peace."
I seriously doubt that this is going to be SUPER BATTLE TREK IN SPACE. The writers involved are too good for that. This feels, to me, like Michael falling to her lowest point so we can see a redemption arc. I have a feeling the next few episodes will be quite a bit more on the hopeful side.Yes, in the pilot there's a space battle. We're not two hours into the series, and there's a major space battle. DS9 did it in the first two minutes.
So for the most part the Klingons have been absent for nearly a century? I don't remember that in canon.
Can't prove that by what we've seen so far.I seriously doubt that this is going to be SUPER BATTLE TREK IN SPACE. The writers involved are too good for that.
