Am I the only one that likes the nazi time travel episode

Oh boy. Then the EMH is not a real person because he's a hologram?
:shifty:

Actual Nazis... believable facsimiles of Nazis... what's the difference?

I once heard that Illinois nazis were fake nazis, or in other words...were also notsies

The images are played by real people dressed as Nazis. So people dressed as Nazis appeared in TOS, ENT and VOY. Their "in-story" status as holograms or aliens is irrelevant.
But wouldn't the Nazi party still have to exist in the 24th century and the Hirogen would have to sign up to be official Nazi's. In the framework of the holoprogram we see Nazi's but in the real world of the Trek universe they are just holograms and in the real world that we live in they are just actors pretending to pretend to be Nazi's or actors pretending to be Nazi's who are non sentient imagery.
I actually think a better case that the Nazi's in "Pattern of Force" were real Nazi's because in that case you have a human who introduces the idea and builds a government around it. Granted the Historian actually tried to create a peaceful version so I wonder what it really means to be a Nazi? Is it just the rules and stated goals of a poltical party or a overall ideology that contains the same values.

The shows used Nazis in their plots. That's all that counts.

The EMH I think you can say is the exception to the rule when it comes to holograms just like Morriaty. Granted it does bring up the horrible reality that Starfleet is okay with creating holgrams capable of independent though and just keeping them as slaves.
As for the Nazi's the only really difference is in how we want to define the answer. Both answers are actually correct from their own point of views. They are real because we see them but unreal because they are fiction.

^ One could also say... that human actors playing Nazis aren't really Nazis. And that one would need the real deal, solicited from Skokie Illinois or what have you for the "true" Nazi effect. :rommie:

The problem is even if you had a real Nazi play a Nazi on tv it would in theory still not be a real Nazi because he would be going off a script and doing a performance.
KInd of like how when Willian Shatner played himself in "Free Enterprise." He is not playing himself he is playing a fictional version of himself.
In reality nothing we see on tv is real except for News and Sports and even those things have false narratives added to them to create drama.

^ And... so, as it follows, this is all an illusion. We don't even know who we're talking to, right? We could all be computer generated robots to play out test scenarios of hypothetical human perspectives, with maybe one or two human test subjects in the mix. What is real?
Nice warm fuzzy to have that argument kill switch when the point can't be won, eh?

Goes even deeper. If every moment in history is lost forever because we can't access the past then that means all of existence ceases to exist every nanosecond meaning everything we see doesn't exist because by the time it takes to see something it is already lost to the past.
Even the version of me who is posting this post is going to no longer exist by the time you read it because that version of me will be lost forever in the universe of a few seconds ago.

The man..must not..cease to exist...The man..must..continue.

So the beginning of season 4-the whole Nazi time travel two parter received criticism.

I actually enjoyed it? Did anyone else?
it was away of showing how the Terran empire or the imperial empire was started from that is a way of thinking about it if you like any mirror story
