They should just establish that the real uniform that we haven't seen has ALWAYS been a divison/color tunic underneath, with a vest or overcoat on top of it. On TOS and TNG, we never saw the overlay (maybe in The Cage), and in the TOS movies and Discovery, we don't see the uniform underneath. They've always been two parts of the same style of uniform, and people can stop complaining.

^ There may be a fair amount of complaints about Rick Berman or his time in charge, but there's no reason why other showrunners can't maintain the prime timeline. It's not Berman's exclusive property or anything like that.

I agree but I can understand the doubt or fear(depending on how much value someone places the need for the show to be in the prime) so I don't think it unreasonable to think the way they do, except for those who have already written it off as being bad or worst the white genocide people. Those people seem to really off the mark.

Most military people state: "We engaged..." or "We have engaged..." <insert current enemy here> in verbal, recorded or written reports to superiors. Picard's "Inform Admiral Hansen...we have engaged the Borg." wasn't a particularly original or unique line.

That makes sense. In TMP, the ceiling dome functioned like an artificial horizon, which is discernible in the wormhole sequence by the tilting representation of the ship in the device. Somewhere on the TrekBBS, there's a nice picture of that dome prop, but I don't have a link handy.

I suppose it's an indicator for the inertial dampeners and artificial gravity.

The reason I asked is actually because this is a different stage of development, and I know that the astrogator was shown to have a pronounced dome in Mike Minor's pre-production artwork.

I remember that now. I think I saw it in one of Donny's threads. Yeah, it could be the astrogator though since that was a dome in Phase II concept art.

I guess that's not particularly relevant to this thread though.

Yeoh's "We have engaged the Klingons.", just seems like a poor version of Stewart's "We have engaged the Borg". I'm hoping it is something that just seems poor due to the way the trailer is cut.

It is cut. The full line is:
"Inform Starfleet, we're engaged to the Klingons, the wedding is in October."

That doesn't sound very exciting. Balance of Terror type shots of the enemy ship motionless on the viewscreen while a red glow flies at the camera is better and still budget friendly.
