Also, there are two main points where the "acting" issues can probably be put down to the editing: when Georgiou is saying on the planet that they should consider Burnham getting her own command, the words "Commander Burnham" are totally editing in from somewhere else. Also the exchange of "Starfleet doesn't fire first" ..." we have to" is probably chopped together. There is no way to get a sense of the acting quality from this trailer as it is so chopped up. But that is a teaser trailer for you.

So true! Happens all the time in trailer edits

"I´m trying to save you. I´m trying to save all of you". I suppose captain Georgiou has died or is seriously injured and Burnham has taken the command to save the crew.

The "look" of the show is the entire point of the teaser.
No it's not. The look is just part of it. You're giving the audience a sense and feel for the show, which includes the characters.

If it was just about the look. All they need to do is release pictures.

Bad acting shines through even in a trailer.

Re: acting. Most of the lines in the trailer are very obviously chopped up. Most of the captains dialogue just before they beam up to the Shenzou sounds like it's taken from two or three different scenes.

This, to me it sounds like three different sources. The sound changes a lot during that sentence.

Totally not relevant, but the Gary Jules version is one of the few times where I think the cover really is better than the original, and I say that as a huge Fears fan.
I like Manfred Mann's Earth Band's cover of Blinded By The Light far better than the original Springsteen version.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, because I do think you can tell if acting is bad in trailer, and it was bad.

The stuff you see in the trailer usually (not always) is in the final cut.

The dialog we're hearing in the the trailer has already been dubbed.
