If YOU could have any new star trek show you want...

I would have loved a Section 31 series set 20 years after ds9. It would focus on a 4 person team operating in Romulan space as they try to stop the Romulans from launching a new weapon that would give them the upper hand against the federation.

I like that idea someone mentioned of an anthology series with different stories / subjects each episode.... And liked that one suggestion of a Federation ship getting assimilated for real with no technobabble bullshit to save the day.

Skip ahead about 100 years from the TNG/DS9/VOY era. A new ship and crew, new aliens, new technology, but same great exploration premise.

Maybe a Federation civil war just ended and the new crew is helping to pick up the pieces, forge new friendships and put out brush fires. You could storylines about crew members dealing with trauma from the war, an emergency convoy being assembled to deliver food/supplies to a colony in need, etc, all interspersed with first contacts and encounters with alien races, both friend and foe.

I'd be interested to see what technology would look like then. Have humans augmented their bodies with nanites that give them a super-immune system? Has the relationship with technology become so tight that devices (memory, visual, etc) are implanted in their bodies? Does this make us look at the Borg differently?

Some people feel that all the worldbuilding that has been done has constrained the situations for Star Trek somewhat, at least in the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta quadrants. Some people may or may not be right.

Screw it, we Andromeda now. New galaxy, new setting, and nothing holding writers back besides maybe picking up that probe destined for the Kelvans early on in the first season, possibly episode one. Stick a transwarp coil in an Enterprise and a few ships to help it along - Andromeda is a long way away, and not even a Big E can explore it all on her own - and if Dark Frontier is to be believed, you could get to Andromeda in a little less than a year.

Haha maybe the Star Trek crew could meet the Mass Effect crew in Andromeda, or party with the reapers

Reapers are interesting, but the problem is something Reaper-like would be seen as too Borg-like (or too Reaper-like).

Go the opposite way. Rip off Warhammer 40K and make Trek 'Nids. Or Orks. Starfleet vs Orks would be hugely entertaining.

Oh I like that........

I was just imagining Picard fronting up to a Reaper ship...... Much talking, "Boom"

Well the TOS lot believed a future with Klingons as allies was farfetched. Anything is possible. The enemy of my enemy is my friend etc

Although even in "Errand of Mercy," which was the very first Klingon episode, the Organians predicted that the Federation and the Klingon Empire would one day be allies . . . .

I always liked that the final TOS movie bore out that prediction.

Consistent canon, fancy that! lol

Welp, if I'm allowed to go full-on fanboy mode without fear of failure...

1) Year Four and Five of the TOS crew's first five year mission
2) The second five year mission of the TOS crew between TMP and TWOK
3) A TOS-era show with a different ship and crew
4) A Captain Pike-era show on the Enterprise
5) A show (any time period) where the central character is a Commodore or Real Admiral in command of more than one ship.

- The TOS-era stuff would have updated esthetics to meet 2017 exceptions, but the general narrative of the Original/Prime Timeline would be kept intact.

Now, please understand, this is only if I was given freedom to go full fanboy without fear of failure!

Star Trek:Excelsior
Based on what was shown in TUC and VOY:"Flashback". If it had been done after TUC or VOY:"Flashback" , then George Takei and Grace Lee Whitney could have done it. However, now it would have to be recast.

I'd like a Star Trek show that paid attention to the logical implications of their plot-solving technology of the week.

Chemicals that can make people move faster than the blink of an eye, develop psychic powers, and tech that can de-age you at the touch of a button. These things would be just as epoch-making to the evolution of a civilization as faster-than-light travel was.

In short, don't ignore the McGuffins and Phlebotinum that you've decided DO exist in your canon.
I'd like this too, something about humanity adjusting to their new existence. I speculated a little about what it might be like here

I would prefer if they digitally recreated the original cast to look as they did in the 60s, they did it with Bruce Willis in that surrogates movie a million years ago and a few others since
