I'd like to see a show about a space trader, similar to Harry Mudd, but not the same. Travelling to different worlds in Federation. Run-ins with Orions, and different alien civilians. Getting into trouble sometimes, sometimes helping out the Federation, etc...
How bout an Enterprise where the 1st two seasons don't suck?

I hear you. The 1st Season of TNG is brutal! I think the 2nd Season is much more solid. Particularly in retrospect, it is a minor miracle TNG survived the 1st Season.

Not only were the first two seasons better in terms of quality of content than the last two, but they were also vastly more popular according to the Nielsen ratings.
Your opinion is not supported by the ratings. Ratings declined because intial viewership dropped dramatically immediately and never recovered.
TNG was a ratings success quite early on. 9-10 million viewers per week.

I became a fan because I liked most of the episodes so I must disagree.

Which doesn't always translate into bad ratings. And ratings mean more than quality.
