I didn't mean Eobard in-Universe. I meant the actor really.
The would have made Matt watch some old episodes of Tom doing his thing, before they let him on set, just to be professional, and the two men probably meet at conventions and put a show on for the kids all the time. Thawne vs. Thawne.

I'm slow on the uptake sometimes... I rewatched last week's episode just now, and in the shot where we got a long look at just Gideon's console while Ray and Lily were ducked down behind it doing modifications, I finally realized that said console is essentially the same hexagonal mushroom shape as the TARDIS console. No way is that by accident.
I cheered!
I was just happy that they addressed that Merlin and Dark(sp) are inexplicably stooges. Please make them scary again.

The theme music even has the same four-beats rhythm of Doctor Who. It's not recognizable enough to be direct rip, but it's close enough.

Thaaaaat's a pretty huge reach, considering that 4-part time is pretty much the most common basis for Western music, including Blake Neely's themes for all the Berlanti DC shows. The style of the LoT theme is very similar to the Flash theme, although the music they use under the "Previously..." recaps is a bit more like Arrow's music.
I don't have the musical vocabulary. I knew when I wrote "four" that I would be mistaken for talking time signature.
Actually the melody of LoT is pretty close to Jerry Goldsmith's The Shadow.
Don't get me wrong, I love Blake Neely's music for all four DC shows. And Legends is my favorite.

Seems like they mistimed their Christmas episode....
I'm not usually a fan of shows assuming bullet wounds are only ever deadly when in the head or center-chest, but if ever there was a reason to go for the kneecaps or shins...
Seriously, that was really weird how they just let evil Rip go (and with part of the spear). They should have just shot him in the legs and let Gideon work her magic if the wounds were too deadly. Though, this episode made me wonder why evil Rip didn't have an over-ride code to take over the Waverider. They should really ask Gideon (assuming she can even answer) about it.

Because the power was out? An override code wouldn't work as long as Gideon wasn't working.
What puzzled me was that the team celebrated Christmas English-style at the end, with Christmas crackers and those little paper crown things. That's particularly odd given that they were celebrating Christmas during the American Revolution. Is it because it's a Canadian-made show? Or did it have something to do with the several English actors in the cast? (Plus I think Alice Troughton directed.) Either way, it doesn't quite track when all the current team members are supposed to be American (or Zambesi-American).
Does anyone else think Rip is more interesting as a villain?
Rip was the one who shut down the power. It seems strange to me that he would have used that strategy if he had an AI overide.
Yes. I particularly liked the line about gathering them all together to not save his family.
The same device also shut down the team's comms and weapons and neutralized Atom and Firestorm. He had to deal with the Legends, not just Gideon. He couldn't even have gotten to Gideon if he hadn't taken care of the Legends first.
Mick's narration was worth the wait.
Should be the standard considering it's the most factual account of what this show is about.

Mick Rory was an ass as usual, and I loved him just as much. "No wonder Franklin is on the $100 bill." 
The chemistry between Steel and Vixen was good, except I found it weird to have relations with someone from another time period. Normally, Steel wouldn't be physically attracted to a woman in her 80s or 90s, but Vixen is pretty much his grandmother, although this is her younger self we're talking about.
The episode should've aired around the holidays.
