I refuse to accept the outcome of this season, and will be cheering for my Chiefs in the Super Bowl!!
;)

Good luck! lot of teams have to disappear before they get invited to the game ;)

I find the best way to do that is with superbowl squares, that way I can root for scores and don't care about the teams or outcome. 45-3 or 15-33, as long as those digits get me paid! :)

Also, Goodell can suck it.

It should include all of New England except CT's Fairfield county ...

For sure that was a lazy attempt at a meme. You'd think if you were going to bash New England fans, you'd at least have highlighted some more of New England in blue ;)

I'm not a Pats fans but I respect their game - they play excellent football that's great to watch.

I had a lot of Falcons in my fantasy leagues this year so I watched a lot of their games - this team is also fun as hell to watch.

I'm hoping we are in for really great Super Bowl, certainly has potential.

I'm gonna say Pats 34 Falcons 31

People in Dallas don't seem to have that much hatred for the Patriots. They're in different conferences, have never met in a Super Bowl, so they seldom play and when they do it's a mostly meaningless regular season matchup. So no real rivalry hence no real hatred, although maybe some jealousy. Though there have been plenty of Cowboys fans who were probably cheering for New England in those Super Bowls against the Giants. And I know plenty who are this time because they don't like the Falcons who Dallas plays more often.

My brother says they hate the Patriots with passion in the Denver area. He goes to the local bars when he lives there during a part of the year.

I was rooting for the Giants in both games and I'm a die hard Cowboys fan. I wasn't let down.

Because they hopped on the bandwagon when they grabbed Peyton, so they want to pretend that they were important and had that history with the Patriots because their QB did.

Not a ton of history with Denver, and most of what does exist is the Patriots struggling with Denver and losing there (both pre and post Manning). Not sure how that leads to hatred; I'd have a hard time trying to talk myself into hating a team that we'd never really played in big games and our only shared history is that they come into our stadium and lose occasionally...

I always root for the team playing against Washington, Eagles, Giants.

Sometimes San Antonio has bigger ratings for the Cowboys than Dallas.

You were cheering for your biggest divisional rival who had eliminated your team both seasons? You're the first Cowboys fan I've heard of doing that.

I don't quite know how to respond to this. I mean it's just football. I liked most of the players on those Giants teams and in the east the Cowboys and Giants rivalry is pretty benign compared to the Eagles and Redskins. The Giants have never really bothered me.

The NFC East is nothing but long standing, bitter rivalries.

And with a combined 12 Super Bowl wins, they have reason to go gunning for each other.

I really doubt there is a shortage of Cowboys fans living in the Dallas area who would cheer for the Giants in a game. They may have family or some kind of connection to other cities. Dallas likely has plenty of folks from the NYC area who roots for Cowboys in most of their games due to being part of the community in Dallas/TX. Also, Giants may be playing the teams that are bitter rivalries of the cities where they have some kind of connection.

News: The Colts have hired Chris Ballard as their new GM, replacing Ryan Grigson.

Views: Goddammit, the Bears should have hired him, because he would have brought Dave Toub with him as coach.

News: After getting pantsed by everyone in sight, the 49ers have hired John Lynch as their GM. He has a six-year contract. Note: Lynch has no front office experience whatsoever.

Views:

I realize it's just football, I didn't say you were going to commit a hate crime against a Giants fan or anything, just that I find it odd a Cowboys fan would cheer for their biggest divisional rival. Or at least tied with Philly, nobody actually cares about the Redskins anymore from what I can tell. But I did see two guys almost get in a fist fight at work because one jokingly yelled "Let's go Giants!!" as a Cowboys fan was riding by on a forklift, he did a u-turn came back, jumped off and got in the guys face yelling at him. Even though Dallas was having an incredible season where they clinched the East and home field, the fact that they lost both of their games to the Giants was a sore spot. You're acting like I invented the idea of football rivalries and silly fan behavior. But you're an out of state Cowboys fan removed from the stupidity and childish nature of the core fanbase, who are frankly ridiculous people. It's a state where people take high school football almost as seriously than the NFL, and in recent years New York has been the biggest thorn in their side and they're the team from the East with the most success. If you can cheer for them then I'm glad for you, you're a better man than most of your fanbase. And I was just referencing that map/meme which assumes that everybody in the country except New England was pulling for Atlanta. Most of the hatred for New England is based on petty jealousy, Cowboys fans are not above that either, it's just New York who is usually the target.

My point was simply that I don't think there's the overwhelming hatred for the Patriots coming out of Texas like there is in states where teams are in the same conference or actually have a rivalry with them. I don't know how many New Yorkers live in Texas, but in 36 years I'm only conscious of having met two. And I work with a Giants fan, but he's not from New York or anything. I know countless New England fans though, I don't think any of them are from the area, they're just Texans who needed to jump on a Super Bowl bandwagon. That little map/meme supposes the entire country has the same hatred/jealousy for New England as they do. But the Patriots rarely play Dallas, they're in different conferences and people simply don't get as worked up around here about it because it's the Giants who are usually knocking Dallas off or keeping them out of the playoffs. It's the Giants who have had the most success in the East. I fully expected to see more people around here backing Atlanta because it's another NFC team and in the southern states, but in my personal experience it seems an even split. I was talking to one guy yesterday who is a big Cowboys fan, I assumed he'd be for Atlanta and said as much but he said he was for New England because he has some vague dislike of Matt Ryan.
