Prometheus 2: Apparently it's happening

Hrm. So Firefly has no aliens, BSG has no aliens...

Engineers are just giant humans and Aliens are bioengineered.

That would leave Predators as the only alien in the universe? haha.

Engineers are part of the alien universe, and they are aliens. They are not human but share some of our DNA, we could be called their descendants.

In the "joke" of an all encompassing shared universe, with the "no aliens" part of 2 of the canons, both engineers and xenomorphs still would fit, with one being basically an advanced earlier form of human, and the other being an engineered creation. The only major component not complying to a humancentric / no aliens mandate would be the Predators.

The populace of the solar system in Firefly set out from Earth in generational ships near the end of the 21st century and centuries before the time of the Firefly series while the Earth had less than a hundred years of sustainability left in it. From their perspective there are no aliens since the discovery of LV-223 and LV-426 and the aliens there and elsewhere all occurred after they departed, and the Predators were a secret to everyone but the US government and Weyland-Yutani.

Same for New BSG because certain actors demanded that.
That story's been exaggerated. While it's true Olmos did say if aliens showed up, he'd walk out, the truth of the matter is there were never going to be any aliens on the show because they didn't figure into the story Ron Moore wanted to tell. It's not like the BSG writers had ideas for aliens that they were forbidden from doing because they wanted to keep Olmos, aliens wouldn't have happened even if he'd never said that stuff.
But technically since the Cylons are artificial aren't they aliens?
Essentially correct, the Cylons fill the same role on BSG that aliens fill in other sci-fi franchises.

I'm not even sure how that logic is supposed to work. But then, I guess it's due to this alien computer I'm using on this alien Internet while wearing these alien clothes and sitting in an alien chair with my feet (which I'm not sure if they're alien or not since my mother took alien fertility drugs) on an alien floor all whilst sipping an alien Mountain Dew. I might be biased or something.

I just checked the cast list on Wikipedia and it has both Noomi Rapace and Guy Pierce, have they actually been officially announced or are they still just rumors?

Rapace was officially announced about six months ago. Guy Pearce's involvement is strictly a rumor that was floated by a fansite a month or so ago.

Guy Pierce? Interesting. Possible flashback or maybe an artificial, like they did with Bishop?
Didn't they have one or two videos he made when he was younger in Prometheus? Maybe we'll just get another more of those.

There was a scene written for Prometheus that they ran out of time/money to shoot, with David visiting his 'father' in his cryotube via the VR headset. (We only get a brief glimpse of David's side of it in the final film.) Maybe they're taking the opportunity to shoot that scene as a flashback, or with an eye to re-inserting it in a director's cut of the former movie.

EDIT: The trailer's out. View at your sleep's own risk.

Looks like Ridley is putting the horror back into Alien.

Wasn't James Franco rumored to play the captain? Billy Crudup was referred to as captain by Katherine Waterston's character in the trailer and it looks like he's going to get facehugged early on...

I don't know. The visuals look great, just as they did with Prometheus, but it seems a bit too reliant on hitting all the same notes as the original Alien instead of expanding on the plot of Prometheus and leading us into Alien instead of just repeating it, which is weird. It could be edited that way for the trailer to try and hook fans of the original in, and maybe there's more development about the Engineers in other scenes. For instance, is the derelict the same ship Noomi Rapace and David were planning on taking to find the Engineer's homeworld (and is that what this planet is?), or is this yet another random crashed Engineer starship on another random planet and the Engineers just really suck at landing? Hopefully further trailers will expand on that.

You've got the following homages to scenes and plot developments from the original Alien:
- Big ship (colony ship instead of towed refinery this time) stays in orbit while smaller ship goes down to the surface to investigate.
- They discover a derelict Engineer spacecraft crashed into the rocky landscape.
- One of the command crew gets too close to an egg and gets a mouth-full of Facehugger.
- The smart person on the crew rightly wants to quarantine the infected personnel but will obviously be overruled.
- In a dripping wet room (a decon shower instead of a randomly dripping cargo hold this time) the Alien slips its rapey penis tail under the legs of the crew (twist, this time it's a dude who's gonna get it).

I hope I'm wrong and it's not just an updated rehash of Alien with a bigger budget. I want it to connect with and lead into the Alienverse, not repeat it. The problem with Prometheus was not that it wanted to tell the story of the Engineers, which I want to see more of, but that it couldn't decide whether or not it wanted to be an Alien prequel or not, so it made weird half-assed sideways references to it without fully committing one way or another. They need to find a way to effectively tie the two together. I'm hoping we'll see more along those lines in future trailers and developments.

I'm still looking forward to this, though. The cast looks great, the visuals are stunning, and the action looks taut. But then the same could be said for Prometheus, and that turned out to be a massive disappointment.

I want to see where Noomi Rapace went off in that ship at the end of Prometheus I don't want a clone of Alien with bigger budget.... Where did she go, what did she find? Why can't we get that movie?

Well, we still might, it's just that this trailer in no way gave the sense that that's even part of the plot (though Noomi Rapace is in it, and Fastbender is obviously there again as other androids this time, but also possibly as David again). But it's just the first trailer, so the story trailers to come might expand on that.

I don't really like this trailer, why spoiler the end for two( the captain and the one in the shower) characters?

The movie will be two hours, this trailer was 2 minutes. Did you actually expect them to answers those question in those two minutes? No, that's what the other 1 hour 58 minutes are for.

FFS, this is just a teaser trailer to wet our appetites. Stop judging a entire movie on a effing trailer.
