Disappointed.
Given they didn't say "Fuller's been replaced..."; I'd say (given they're already making a profit based on distribution sales outside the U.S.) - They looked at the 3 scripts turned in, and the outline and saw the production crews (PRE and POST would need the time (and maybe a bigger overall budget) to do it at the level CBS wants.Wonder if CBS is happy with the way the series is progressing?
As someone who writes the news, I'm glad. Had it aired, say January 4, that would mean heavy news during the holidays and a debut when I'm undecorating.
So for selfish reasons, May is better for me.![]()
And while it is successful it's also pretty awful, the writing is atrocious, the acting often mediocre to bad. They're also the guys that, when Robert Kirkman tried to pitch them "The Walking Dead", told him to turn it into a procedural crime drama with zombies. After which he left and got it made on AMC.

Had your baby girl and Discovery arrived on the same day you could always have named her after the new Number OneJanuary 4 is the due date for our baby girl, so I agree that this delay is preferable
I heard somewhere that Fuller is notoriously slow at making decisions.
Hey, could be the show is already enough of a success that they increased the budget and that's part of the reason for the delay.
So the ST DSC premiere will air during Nielsen rating sweeps in May and the inevitable season 1 blu-ray will be in released Q4 now guaranteed not in Q3.Before heading into production, we evaluated these realities with our partners at CBS and they agreed: Star Trek deserves the very best, and these extra few months will help us achieve a vision we can all be proud of.”
said executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Bryan Fuller.
Vaportrek? They did say they were already making a profit on the series. If that's true, they may have little incentive to actually distribute the series and incur those costs!![]()
