What are your thoughts about seeing the prime universe again?

I didn't think we'd never see it again, but the evidence suggested a Kelvin universe with an unknown timeline.
The fact they went prime is a slight surprise but Fuller's reasoning is very sensible: CBS and Paramount could easily partner to tie-in to each other(contrary to what you hear) but actually synchronizing an ongoing movie series with a new TV series would be harder. So they simply separated it from the Kelvin timeline so as to not complicate things.

The people who said that we'd never see the prime universe ever again and that we should just let it go will never own up and admit that's what they thought and wished.
The Kelvin Universe hasn't done a TNG and won over the majority of the fanbase. In 2009 it might have been possible but too much time passed between sequels for a rabid fanbase to grow and then Into Darkness happened which shot the KelvinVerse in the foot in my opinion. If Beyond had come before ID I think the positive feeling towards that KelvinVerse would have continued. The poor reaction to a perceived "remake" of TWOK only 2 movies into a new version of the franchise drove away a lot of hardcore fans in my opinion. The general audience clearly didn't turn hardcore in their droves which is reflected in the box office performance of Beyond. So although the KelvinVerse has its fans and its own popularity it isn't popular enough to dump the PrimeVerse just yet.

Not to mention that it also keeps things clean between the companies. Paramount keeps the KelvinVerse all for itself and CBS does the same with PrimeVerse.

I always held out hope that we'd be back in the Prime Universe, as it helps me further ignore what happens in the NuTrek one.
I was more inclined to believe that both the Prime and [Kelvin] timelines would be over and done by the time we get another Trek series. Up until now, CBS All Access was just a dumping ground for programs that already aired on CBS as well as older shows in their extensive back catalogue, so its foray into original content was the game-changer. Otherwise, I figured most of us would be in retirement homes (or six feet under) by the time a new Trek series came along.
But I always ignored the absolute claims by fans that we'd never go back to the Prime timeline because the only ones who would know that for certain would be those producing a new series. "Too much baggage," "too much continuity"--those were the common rationales against going back. It's therefore ironic that an event from that same troublesome continuity is cited as a trigger for the new series.

Nope.
I'm one who said Prime was dead, because that's what all the evidence pointed to. Including Les Moonves' stated lack of interest in having Trek back on TV. But I don't mind admitting when I've been wrong, so there.
Still, I think it's overly optimistic to assume that "Prime" means having all kinds of references forward and backward in the timeline. Until I see it, it ain't happened.
Also, I'm thinking that the new show will be so different that there will be a faction that refuses to accept DSC as "Prime." Whatever happens, I can hardly wait.

Perhaps Star Trek: Discovery, whilst set in the prime universe, could easily come from the Kelvin universe. The TOS event spoken of by Fuller could have happened in the Kelvin timeline as well. I think the choice had more to do with the fact that CBS, Paramount and Bad Robot are not making it easy for each other and are trying to compete instead of making the Star Trek brand whole again.

Many of the same people saying it wouldn't be prime were swearing up and down that we'd never see Trek on TV again before that (as that would help bolster their case for limiting Trek to the Kelvin movie-franchise).
