Another recycled set-piece: The radiation door from Into Darkness's engine room is in Franklin's engine room, with some pipes behind it.
The Franklin engineering was the one set I thought was kinda lame. Looks like something from a klingon ship. Very dank.
Not to mention, but the viewscreen was obviously done by a different company. I don't recall the NX-01 having on screen graphics like we've seen on the Kelvin and the Kelvin-timeline Enterprise.
To paraphase Yoda, "when almost 200 years old you reach, look as good, you will not." I wouldn't expect engineering to look at all pristine after crashing that long ago, and after Jaylah had been tinkering with things, and rerouting who knows how many conduits to get main power online again.

Since the first peek, and moreso throughout the film seeing more of it, it reminded me a lot of the HMS Bounty set from ST4. It's supposed to be the bare bones basic stuff so I didn't mind it - the warp core (assuming thats what it was
) knid of looked like a merging of the STID core's style (or what it'd look like from above) in the NX-01 placement.
Sorry if this has been answered before...but how close of a design is the Franklin to the last ship we see in the montage in TV Enterprise's opening credits?

Wow, that would imply MACO had a lot more resources then we thought, for they to operate independent ship building facilities.
So the reason they deployed MACO's to the NX-01 is the Franklin class couldn't traverse the Expanse or keep up with the Enterprise on the other side?

I think that's this ship? When the cutouts were released I did a side by side with all three, and I can see the franklin fitting in between them:
It looks like step one was making the engines work, step two was figuring out the best layout, step three was perfecting/enlarging that layout. Franklin was obviously in service at some stage, but it's like an "almost there!" test model.
Oh, it's the Delta shape?!?! I only recall seeing the back of the ship, which made me think it was th NX-01 at the very first, but never realized it was NOT a saucer shape...
That explains a lot, actually about the ship, crew and some of the other incongruities surrounding that ship. Did anyone catch if there was a M.A.C.O insignia on the dedication plaque?
The opening credits ship is not the delta shape shown above - but it is an earlier delta shape, left somewhat unfinished at the bow, and dubbed SS Emmette by the artists. Memory Alpha article here:

Since all the ships other than the hero ship were registry-free, and save the Intrepid also name-free, it's easy to postulate that some would have belonged to organizations other than United Earth Starfleet. The supposed United Earth Military (which had an Assault Command among others) might easily have been another operator.

I think it is possible to work too hard to reconcile all the various elements of the sprawling Trek franchise.
The Franklin wasn't a dedicated ship for MACO. It was mothballed then brought back into service and given to Edison after the MACOs disbanded.
Or then built for MACO, and given to UFP Starfleet later on. Or then built purely as a non-operational engine testbed, and given to UFP Starfleet later on.
For all we know, she comes from a timeline where NX-01 never reached warp 4, but was lost on her first mission for unknown reasons - in reality because of the temporal war going differently in that timeline, but Starfleet thought the Warp Five Engine was at fault and began favoring the competing project that resulted in the Franklin.
Speculative, "official" and canonical backstories are all okay, until and unless the latter contradicts the first two sorts. So far, we just have very little canonical backstory to go by...

Unless I've missed them, I'm surprised no one's mentioned the ridiculousness of having the Franklin literally burst through the Yorktown entrance, and surviving. I'm all for suspension of disbelief (the fall of the cliff, surviving the swarm assault etc) but come ooon.....

Franklins "knock knock motherfucker" moment is more ridiculous than boomboxing the enemy to nothing?
Both were some of the best moments in the movie. Especially watching her burst through the doors in 3D, sitting dead center of the threatre, that's not something I'm going to forget soon.
