Idris Elba is excellent, and he works well as the villain.

BUT - I think that, if Star Trek Into Darkness hadn't been the 12th film and this the 13th, that Krall would have been that little bit more awesome.

 

And Sofia Boutella? is Jaylah charismatic? does her character work well?

 

Sofia Boutella is a wonderful addition to the cast. I think Jaylah will appeal to the same sorts of audiences as characters like Katniss Everdeen.

 

And about sound track? Michael Giacchino?

 

You don't have to go into much detail, but can you confirm that we get some hot saucer separation action?

 

Have we found out the USS Franklin origin?

 

How long has the Franklin been on krall's planet and was the entire crew killed?

 

I'm a composer and composition teacher by study, so soundtracks is my thing. In his previous films the soundtracks have often relied too much on his one or two main motifs - but he's much more subtle here. Still a coherent soundtrack (and more calls back to the stuff from the last 50 years), and it definitely sounds like Giacchino has settled into the Star Trek thing much better.

Yes, very much so. I think you'll all enjoy watching out for them.
