2016 MLB Regular Season - It's an Even Year...

The reason I ask this is because the Mets/Pirates game got rained out tonight but they're making it up tomorrow. Fine, I get that. But this same thing happened a couple of weeks ago in Kansas City and they did NOT make it up the next day. Not really a big deal, I'm just curious as to the reasons.

The Pirates do not have any more road games at New York for the remainder of the season.

The Mets/Pirates series this week is in Pittsburgh, but otherwise that's correct, the Mets and Pirates aren't scheduled to meet again this whole season.

As for the game that got cancelled in Kansas City...it was against the Whitesox, who ARE returning this September (which is when the game got rescheduled to) so I guess that is indeed the reason.

Kind of sucks, though. There was a tour group coming through our hotel that day, and that was the only game they were scheduled (in KC) to see...turned out to be all for nothing. :sigh:

No convenient and mutual off days either?

The visiting team would still have to eat the travel and lodging costs -- it's not financially prudent, nor would it be fair, to tell one team, "Yeah, that scheduled off-day? You've got to ship everyone to Queens for one game, sorry." Far more prudent to just do the double-header.

Every person in that county should collectively decide NOT to pay their property taxes (if it's done on that type of basis).

Juan Uribe is listed as day-to-day with "bruised testicles," after taking a 106mph liner from Mike Trout's bat straight to his junk.

Ouch.

I'm just going to leave this here.

I was bored this morning and spent some time on B-R. Kershaw's career WHIP is 1.0093.

Sweet Jesus. That's, like, 1999 / 2000 Pedro levels of insanity.

Jose Reyes was released by the Blue Jays, which under the circumstances in understandable. However there is talk of him coming back to the Mets. If he does come back to the Mets, what's the over/under on how long before he's injured for the season? 6 or 7... weeks? no days.

I'm pretty sure the Mets don't want any part of a domestic abuser.

In other news, holy SHIT, the Rangers' stadium deal is disgusting. And I thought the Marlins' was bad.

Oh my god, how can people keep letting this shit happen?! Boot your shitty corrupt city councilpeople out of office for going along with these horrible deals, people.
