2016 MLB Regular Season - It's an Even Year...

Seriously? I was being sarcastic. Dusty is a pitcher's worst enemy. If he was in NY, all five starters would be on the DL.
I think you misunderstood my post. They would still be injured, they just wouldn't be allowed to go on the DL and Dusty would be making them pitch.

Holy shit. Jennry Meija is going to announce a lawsuit against both MLB and the Commissioner's Office, accusing them both of wrongdoing and other ... less than scrupulous activity over the past several years.

Meija's an idiot, since it takes some pretty serious dedication to get popped for doping three times in like a year or whatever, but if that case ever hits discovery -- it won't, but I can dream -- that would lead to some seriously juicy stuff coming out, particularly since Manfred led MLB's special investigation division prior to taking over the top job.

Well, my Yankees are 44-44.

Can't seem to muster offense when they need it.

Can't beat Colorado or San Diego but can end a road trip in Cleveland and take 3 of 4.

No consistency what so ever.

Nice touch last night at the ASG. Love they chose Carew and Guinn to have batting titles names after them.

American league again dominates. Although so late injuries to AS pitchers on the National league side probably affected the game.

Have to tip my hat to Beltran... he's been awesome. When he can't play the field A-Rod is benched. Chuckle... A-Rod is stinking up the joint anyways.

Didi has been playing some fantastic baseball!! Who projected hit 290+ to go along with some pretty darn good fielding. What a canon. He is playing with so much more confidence that he started with.

Castro still hasn't seen a pitch he didn't like.

Tex is batting what, about 220? (WTF....)

CC had a stretch there when he was almost unhittable. Nice rebound year for him. Not bad for an old man.

Tanaka has had little run support. He could/should easily have 9 or 10 wins.

Big Mike is either unhittable or getting crushed. Seems there is no middle road for him.

Get a lead after 6 and it's pretty much in the bank. Betances, Miller and Chapman are killin it.

Don't know what this team has in store for the second half. Could be great, could be mediocre.

We'll have to watch and see. Maybe they can scratch out a wild card birth.

290+ Timby?

Maybe you missed it in all your crying about Shane Greene being traded -- by the way, he continues to get tarred and feathered in Detroit -- I kept on saying that Didi, in addition to having world-class defense, absolutely had the chance to become a .280 or higher hitter if he developed just a bit of strike zone judgment.

Yeah, I did like Shane. Oh well, can't be right all the time line you. Only 280, eh?

Baseball is back!

In other news, Cahill heads to the DL with a knee injury, Kawasaki is back to AAA, Grandpa is off the concussion DL, and coming up to replace Cahill is... Clayton Richard.

If we believe Richard's problems were related to the blister, he should be lights out.

The reality is, every single phase of the Cubs, offense and pitching, went in the toilet at the same time. Starters, relievers...both sucked. No hitting, the plate discipline disappeared.

They're gettin' it done today though, 6-0 through 6 innings. Hendricks did his job.

Yes, I gave good effort today.

I'll always wonder what the Cubs offense would look like if Bill Mueller hadn't walked after the team sacked his assistant.

Yeah, who knows. D'ya think there would be different players?
But either way, I think the recent problems are more about other teams adjusting to what the Cubs were doing, and the Cubs not adjusting back. Kinda like what happened against the Mets in the NLCS.

There really are times I wonder about Maddon. He sticks with what works too long after it stops working. He definitely leaves Arrieta, Lester or Lackey in too long at times, even when they're clearly gassed. But then he will take an on-fire Hendricks out in the fifth because they're down one run.
