I'm not - that sounds terrific. Except for Legends of Tomorrow. I hope they do something to improve that show next season - the current writing is AWFUL. It's easily the worst Berlanti show. I'd actually prefer if they dropped the "of Tomorrow", ditched the time travel (mostly), and just made it a DC anthology show.

It will be interesting to see what happens now. Fewer extras in the background at Catco no doubt. Don't expect the fx to suffer at all since the other CW shows do such a solid job with them.
Wonder if the move will allow the show to grab a larger number of DC characters to appear. Grodd maybe?

Rumor is that they wanted it as just "Legends" but that was already taken.

The season 2 thread is up and ready for speculation and eventual discussion.

    I can see it now:

GREEN ARROW v SUPERGIRL: Horizon of Justice

Oliver and company find out about Supergirl and try to take her down, but then he finds out her fifth cousin's name rhymes with Laurel. (Lor-L?) Meanwhile, Cisco accidentally creates Solomon Grundy at STAR Labs and Starfire appears out of the blue to help the CW heroes defeat him.

    Yep. Can't wait...

I'm glad the show gets a second season, but I'm disappointed to lose the distinctiveness (compared to the Arrowverse shows) of its LA filming locations. (Now we'll never get to see Supergirl visit Vasquez Rocks, or Stately Wayne Manor...) I'm also worried about what kind of budget cuts we may be in for.

I'm also disappointed because I would've liked to see CBS commit to diversifying its lineup some more. For the past couple of decades, it's been the network with by far the smallest number of SF/fantasy shows, and I was hoping it would get on board with the trend toward more genre programming. It's had one of the best SF shows on TV, Person of Interest, for five seasons, but mainly because it kept its SF elements mostly hidden for the first two years, and now it's coming to an end. They still have Limitless (which I don't watch), and there's that Brain Dead SF comedy coming up soon, but it just feels like the attempt to bring more SF/fantasy to the network isn't catching on.

I don't see the need, given that the Flash and his team have found a couple of ways to cross universes. Maybe we'll find that Barry's trip to Supergirl's world created a permanent breach between them, allowing fairly regular travel (at least using the powers of Flash, Vibe, or Supergirl, or maybe some alien technology salvaged by the DEO). I like the element that parallel worlds bring to the multiverse, and the presence of aliens as a major factor in Supergirl's world gives it a distinct flavor from Earth-1 or even Earth-2.

I just hope that when we get another Flash-Supergirl crossover, it's explained why Barry seemed to forget about the first one moments after he got home.

Unfortunately, it would have an effect for me, since my local CW provider broadcasts it at lower image quality than CBS does. Which is particularly annoying on The Flash, because the digitally broadcast image tends to posterize or blur a bit when the images onscreen are changing very quickly. Also, their sound always seems just a bit out of sync with the picture.

Ooh, that's a worrisome thought. I hope nobody drops out of the cast because of the move.

Grundy was set up on Arrow Season 2, but they went nowhere with him.

I am stoked at the possibility of getting the DEO, Martian Manhunter and space travel incorporated into the Arrowverse. Green Lantern feels so close....

I am worried at the possibility of losing the big name actors from Supergirl (Cat Grant and J'onn J'onzz specifically), and I'm hoping the outdoor look of National City doesn't change too much... :(

I guess the easiest way to handle it would be to just have Supergirl get trapped on Earth 1 with whatever characters are making the move with her, but, i don't know....

Then again, does this open the door for more Smallville elements to enter? It IS the CW, after all.

Chyler Leigh and David Harewood have tweeted so far, so we have them at least. My main concern is Calista Flockhart.

The HR article seemed to say she's fine with it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind one bit if Supergirl and Martian Manhunter got stranded on Arrow-Earth and we jettisoned the rest of the cast. That way we can have more crossovers!

Harewood's from England anyway, so I don't see why he would've had any more problem with Vancouver than LA. At least Canada's part of the Commonwealth.

But we'd lose the aliens and the ties to Superman and Metropolis. It would homogenize the show far too much with the others. We've already got nearly routine interdimensional travel on The Flash, so why not just keep that up and add a third Earth to the rotation?

One does not preclude the other. The two of them can visit Earth 1 without too much trouble yet remain in their own universe most of the time.

None of the series regulars are going anywhere.

The series also isn't going to suddenly be merged with the Arrowverse just because it's now airing on the same network and filming in the same place.

Wth the possible exception of a certain Ms. Sullivan I would have no interest in any Smallvillians appearing on any current shows. Ok Lex but that will never happen, maybe Hartleys Green Arrow, he would at least be fun.

No more cameos by Tiny CGI Superman or the Boots of Steel...would that be a bad thing?

IM Clark might be a bit of a loss.

No, it would not, since the real DC live action universe (the one WB is investing everything in growing) is on the big screen, so there's no loss a pair of rubber boots and a tiny CGI figure suddenly vanishing.

I've said before how I think it undermines Supergirl as a character to imply that she can only function as her own person if her male counterpart is removed from the equation. I think it's important to have Superman around theoretically, and the awkwardness of how his presence is handled can potentially be improved on.

Although I'm hoping that in the future, we'd have the chance to meet Lois or Perry or have a storyline set in Metropolis. A lot of the story and character arcs on this show rely on it being, in a sense, a sequel/spinoff to a Superman show that never existed, drawing on the pre-existing connections to the Superman mythos and characters. Despite what I just said, I could see them doing a "Death of Superman" arc inspired by the '90s mega-event, something where Superman is apparently killed offscreen (by Doomsday, presumably) and we see Supergirl and the rest of the world coping with this, with Kara, Jimmy, and Lucy going to Metropolis to be with their family and colleagues and figure out what to do next. Of course, Superman would come back to life at the end of the story arc. If it were just a finite storyline, I could see it working.

I've been hoping for just that, a SG take on "Reign of the Supermen" for awhile now - the Cyborg is set up, as is Cadmus labs. It could be fantastic.

Considering that we will probably never see Superman in action on the show, a Metropolis episode with Clark and Lois could still be fantastic, and again, I'm totally hoping for Welling and Durance to reprise the roles, maybe even get some Lex action in there too - they don't need to acknowledge Smallville anymore then Shipp playing a Jay Garrick (or Tina, or Trickster) need to acknowledge the 90's Flash. Parallel Universes and all...

Legends of Tomorrow just introduced aliens, so no problem there.

I've never found the handling of Superman to be awkward. This is a Supergirl show and Superman is a movie character. He's not going to appear (unless he does). It's just how it is.

I still think about Harrison Ford playing Perry White. It's a great idea.

Just having Clark without Superman is a good work-around too.

Or...getting out of his shadow could help her to grow.
