"That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works", especially since it's directly referenced, as noted, by other films in the franchise.

I guess what im trying to get at is should this be the last main X film? Or should they carry on without wolvie n adapt a few more major storylines set in the 80s n 90s? Hows everyone ranking of all 8 x films?
Disqualified: Deadpool. Regardless of the merits of the film, I don't think it counts as an X-Men film.
Plus, it's hard to reconcile the movie's chronology with Deadpool's previous appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Also, Colossus seems a lot older here than he did in any of the other films, including Days of Future Past.
I'm no X-pert, but that sounds to me like a third movie with the young Cyke/Jean crew, not the second...A Phoenix saga done even half way right has already been mentioned above and that's what I thought too. You could easily make it vastly different to X3.
That's not a problem, since Deadpool takes place, I believe, in 2016.
This. But the Colossus scenes of DOFP take place in something like 2023.

Butterfly wings and all that. The timeline is all over the place, with multiple version of characters and conflicting ages. It's easier to just say, "It all counts, even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff."But the Colossus scenes of DOFP take place in something like 2023.
It seemed to be another universe to me. The biggest tell was the X-Mansion itself; in Deadpool's universe the hedges were all hugs (Os), rather than kisses (Xs). Which I'm pretty sure was shown in either the first or second X-Men movie.Unfortunately, it counts as an X-Men film whether people like you and me want it to.

Probably would be an understatement. Deadpool can see out of his universe and into ours.it's probably not 100% a reliable description of that universe
Whats's your point?

That saying "It's not a problem because Deadpool takes place in 2016", in response to the observation that Deadpool's Colossus is older than DOFP's Colossus, doesn't make sense.
How does leading a different life lead to an extreme height difference?
Or just as easy, considering the kind of world they live in, one or the other of him was subject to some sort of mutant experimentation at some point, which either stunted or accelerated his growth.
