If the epilogue is an indication of where such a sequel could go, I am very interested.According to Trek Collective Dayton Ward has said that he has an idea for a sequel to this one too.
It bothers me that the references to the DTI don't completely match up with how other novels, especially Forgotten History, have portrayed Kirk and his crew's interactions with the DTI. But that's a minor quibble since the DTI has no role in this story.
Forgotten History depicts the Enterprise crew directly and repeatedly interacting with the DTI's founders and their first wave of personnel. But the Enterprise crew's dialogue in Elusive Salvation seems to me as though they have never had or only rarely had direct interaction with DTI personnel. Can you say how it doesn't match up?

I'm about halfway through and loving it. What's even better, its set during the movie era. It's really been freshening up the TOS books using this setting lately, in the last few books.I got my copy today and I can't wait to read it.![]()
Is it considered a story idea to wonder what would happen if somebody from the 24th century or beyond were to interact with Majestic-12 or Gary Seven, Roberta Lincoln, or Mestral? If so, I'm sorry and won't mention it again.
Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. It's not a story idea to ask what would happen. It would be a story idea to propose an answer.
