DC Comics is doing new versions of The Flintstones, Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, Wacky Races

Of course you can have an all-male team in this modern TV age. How long has Supernatural been on the air? How many women are part of the demon-killing club?

Of course adding a female Impossible isn't necessary. It just made somebody in public relations feel better because they can say the new Impossibles is more inclusive.

I wouldn't want a new male member of The Impossibles, either - I think the team has always been perfect as they are.

Comic Book Resources has some new art, and a new description for The Flintstones. They've also announced that artist Steve Pugh will be working on the series.
DC's official description for The Flintstones said:
Fans will be introduced to the town of Bedrock, where Paleolithic humans dine on artisanal prepared mammoth after shopping at the Neandertall & Big Men’s Clothing stores, get the latest news via cave painting, and folks drive foot-powered cars. Join Fred and Barney as Mr. Slate sends them on a mission to show some Neanderthals a night on the town in hopes of luring them into this new system of "working for a living" -- in his quarry, of course! Find out what happens to Fred and the gang when they finally get to learn how Bedrock's "one percent" lives in this satirical take on life in the world’s first civilization this summer!
This is exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping for, so this sounds good to me.

Exactly, having a full fleet of tokens is not mandatory, it's just a path of least resistance.

Well, they do keep introducing recurring female characters, and they did have Lauren Cohan and Katie Cassidy in Season 3.
I guess I shouldn't have said can't and should have said a lot of people prefer you don't have all male casts these days.

I wouldn't have minded recurrent characters - of either sex - in an Impossibles comic, (or new TV series, if that happened), but just not permanant team members. Anyway, from what I've heard, it seems like DC are going to trash them anyway as far as I'm concerned.

Also, what is probably the single most criticized aspect of Supernatural since its beginning including by its own fandom, and what caused the greatest outrage recently? The lack of women that don't die horribly and the (poorly done) killing off of a popular recurring woman.

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you have Asperger's syndrome or some sort of autism? Reading your posts has been "interesting". As to your complaint: yeah, I am going to disagree. It's 2016, FUTURE QUEST is suppose to be an updated take on a classic, and, quite frankly, having a female vocalist as a member of the Impossibles is not a big deal. It will succeed or fail, depending upon how well the comic sells.

Besides, my only complaint is that there isn't a THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN re-imagine comic. Yes, it wasn't a HB property, but the studio that had produced it had been bought by WB in recent years.

No, I don't have Asperger's or any form of autism. I realise you don't mean it as an insult and there is no shame in having such conditions, but the terms seem to be bandied about too freely these days. Yes, I did go over-the-top in saying I don't like the idea - but it dosen't mean that at all.

I shouldn't be double-posting but................I'm sorry, I do realise I was being VERY over-the-top (to say the least)!!!!!! in my posts on this subject........I certainly don't want my favourite cartoon reimaged in a way that dosen't appeal to me, but I was in a bad mood generally, (life does that sometimes)!!!!! and was letting off steam here........ really wish I could edit my posts so I could put my opinion across more sensibly. But, although I know it wasn't meant as an insult, I don't think you should have asked if I had something like Asperger's on a public post.

I agree, your posts are fine.

I think forums develop a certain tone and this place is pretty laid back & non-confrontational compared to most social media - newbies almost always come across a bit awkward, that's how communities online work.
