But Kirk55555 you don't like either of the original versions of Superman or Batman as presented in the comics either. You like the refined heavily changed from their origins mid 70's to late 70's versions. You don't like the original Suicide Squad, but the Ostrander version which bears no resemblance to the teams first 6 issue run in Brave and the Bold.
Someone like Ostrander had a great idea to tell a story that only used the Suicide Squad name and nothing else. Was that a cheap gimmick? I bet there were a few fans ( one or two old timers) who were really upset the original team was not involved.
Every comic character has gone through a multitude of changes not only in their comic lives but every time they have transferred to another media.
Imagine an internet in uproar in 1978 when Clark Kent is portrayed as a bungling buffoon in Superman. How dare they alter the character that George Reeves played with such style in The Adventures of Superman!
