Hey, don't judge. 50 Shades started out as Twilight fan-fics. So we could be witnessing something truly special here. Paramount should be thinking of a trilogy of rated R Star Trek films from this with JJ directing if they're smart.

She hasn't read the script. That is for quite sure.
Even I haven't read the script yet.
A lot of smaller conventions bring in fan-fic writers and such for panelists. It's the way conventions have gone for years. The few conventions I agree to attend and be a panelist at almost always have fan-fic writers ... and trust me, they are great panelists, for the most part.
But you also get some yahoos who claim they have some connection somewhere. I was once put on a panel at Necronomicon in Tampa with some guy who said he was a professional spec script writer ... yet, it was only in his head. He didn't have a clue about how the entire process and business works. I listened to him for about 15 minutes, before I started calling him out.
These were people in the audience who were looking to find ways of breaking into the business. The last thing any of them need is bullshit information.
So you get a Leslie Owens at every convention.
