Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

And some of those same (if not all) alien prisoners have escaped from Fort Roz after being tried, convicted and sentenced. The DEO has simply returned them to custody.

But the DEO has no authority under Kryptonian law. Indeed, since the Kryptonian state no longer exists, I'd think that, legally, the sentences it imposed would no longer be binding.

^When the villain knows your secret identity, the gloves come off...take them to a remote mountain cabin and let them fall to their deaths.

Some need to remember that superheroes are not a gang of head-in-the-clouds constitutional lawyers spewing Law From On High that is largely inapplicable to active, dangerous situations. Lord's "rights" mean nothing when he's posing a danger to the lives of innocent people, has no problem using unauthorized DNA traces to clone, etc.

Other than trickery, there's no reason for the series protagonists not to keep Lord imprisoned, or execute him. They are protecting the innocent and a greater good, not arguing civil liberties in a class, where real consequences are never faced.

I wonder if sooner or later we'll get the story element of some human government official offering a Fort Roz escapee a job in exchange for not breaking their laws. The escapee says yes but of course it's just a ruse which Supergirl and co. have to expose.

This is not their only installation.

This is certainly not their main prison.

Although the actor playing Lord is arguably the most (TV) famous person they have on site after lexie form Gray's Anatomy, which was a while ago and the potatoes might start forgetting her relevance, and really who the #### watches old Grays Anatomy and New Supergirl? Weirdos! That goes triple for Ally McBeal.

1. John impersonates Max for a week, gives all his money to charity and then has sex with live stock in a school playground.

2. Taskforce X style, put a bomb in his spine and release him to do good deeds, or else.

3. Mind wipe him. Johns telepathy is for shit if he can't make subtle alterations like any half decent hypnotists can with enough LSD.

4. Marry Alex.

5. Give Lord Lord a robotic guard (conscience) called LRon!!!!!!!

Naming Kara's duplicate "Bizarro"--Cat must be quite the Seinfeld fan.

After all, the TV episode was an adaptation of a half-hour radio episode that was a distillation of a much longer radio serial
Damn, I should have seen that drink coming....

It would be, if Cat noticed her employees existed let alone what they do ;)
True dat!

You never let your enemy see your secret lair.
At least, not without Bat-Gassing them first....

and I doubt it's that much different on Earth-S (to coin a label).
It may not currently be in use, but classically speaking, that one's taken.

Great episode this week. Really loved what they did with Bizzaro and I'm glad we might be finally getting somewhere with Lord. I actually do agree with keeping him at the DEO, but we know he's not going to stay there. I'm glad we're done with Adam. Maybe now Kara and Winn can patch things up and that could lead to Winn not turning into his father.

I missed the preview for next week (Stupid Election cutting off the ending) but we're getting an alien parasite story? Should be fun.

Even if they were, we wouldn't know for sure if they'd live up to our own legal/moral standards, shakier as it is. You don't just assume someone is a criminal because because some third party you don't know well had decided so, recognizing someone else's sentences takes a lot, I am being told. We have no respect for the aliens, so why would we respect their law? Especially when their government was reckless enough to blow up the entire planet, which should be considered more criminal than whatever the prisoners did... unless some of the prisoners were somehow partially responsible for Krypton's destruction and we are not told that yet.

That's if we assume their criminal past matters to anybody. J'onn J'onzz wasn't a criminal, he wasn't convinced of anything, he was just persecuted for being who he is. Now, his own efforts have changed that, a little bit, but Maxwell Lord and his ilk are trying hard to maintain a state of no rights for aliens. So keeping him may not be legal, nor moral, but he is still getting treated better than he would like the law to treat aliens, and with no double-standard applied by the DEO either.

Episode 14 is going to deal with Kryptonian legality and justice in the form of the Master Jailer, and explore what lines Kara is or isn't willing to cross when it comes to dealing with the escaped prisoners from Fort Rozz.

George Bush accidentally said that the CIA had secret prisons.

He forgot that the secret prisons were secret.

Swell guy.

If George is actually above average smarts, like Barbara says, he was intentionally screwing with the CIA for his own reasons, and the CIA definitely knows what they did to deserve being shitpalmed like that.

My point?

Inconsecration is a simple process where you tell god to #### off whereafter a church turns into a regular building. Anyone can do it, it's not that difficult.

Creating an embassy is when you tell a pitch of soil that it is mistaken as to which Country owns it, which is very hard to do, unless you happen to be working for one of the countries involved in this change over of title.

Camp X-Ray is subject to the laws of Cuba, which the occupants of Camp X-Ray completely ignore. Castro has been pissed about this since the day he took power half a century ago.

The location of Camp X-Ray is significant. Because Guantanamo Bay is leased from Cuba and is nominally subject to Cuban sovereignty, United States courts have ruled that persons detained in Guantanamo Bay do not have the access to American courts that a person detained within the United States. These rulings were in reference to Cuban and Haitian refugees found on the high seas and sent to Guantanamo where they attempted unsuccessfully to apply for asylum and administrative hearings to avoid repatriation, but have become applicable to other prisoners in Camp X-Ray.

The only way that the DEO could morally or legally do what it does, building inhumane prisons for aliens and humans, is if any whereever it has a base, the DEO turns the soil under those facilities into international waters by UnAmericanizing the encampment, so that anything goes.

J'onn J'onzz is guilty of identity theft, but he hasn't been charged with identity theft or convicted of identity theft. Lucky duck.

The current rulers of Mars consider J'onn J'onzz to be a criminal like the Nazi's considered homosexuals to be criminals, and if a new treaty between Earth and Mars was created to enforce the respect of each others boundaries and laws, then extradition is probably possible, or definitely possible to avoid war with Mars.

What if Astra claimed Earth's Moon vis a vis casually, but it's more a lease-to-buy sorta dealio where Earth is given a few trillion trillion dollars of free helium 3 for the foreseeable future (80 cents worth of software and a few drones, it's like selling New York for beads and axes.) in exchange for not losing their shit about new neighbours?

That was a nice news to wake up and read! Inevitable but surprising its happen so soon considering they downplayed it as a priority.

This will be the first time since 1991 the Flash will appear on CBS. Too bad they can not work John Wesley Shipp into this for even a small cameo. Its probably Barry visiting Kara's Earth in the Multiverse.

Now if only they could bring Constantine back full time on Arrow. Since NBC isn't going to revive the show or release the 13 episodes they aired on DVD or digital stream.

BvS and a Supergirl/Flash crossover within a few days. That's gonna be a nice week for DC. :techman:

I don't see why you would. It sounds like it's just going to be Barry coming to Supergirl, so I doubt it'll have any impact on his show.

I'm wondering if, on the return to Earth-One, Barry get's "lost" and ends up on Supergirl's Earth having an adventure with Kara. On "The Flash" there's a bit of delay with Barry coming back, but then he's back and all "whoa...I just got back from another Earth, let me tell you guys about it" cut to commercial break.

Well, it was natural that they'd downplay it before it was finalized, since they wouldn't want to get hopes up before they could be sure it would happen. It's a pretty universal rule in business that you don't talk about a deal until it's done, for fear of saying something that would ruin it. And if the press or the fans are asking about it, you try to throw them off the scent for the same reason.

Well, except the visit to Earth-2 is next week and this crossover isn't until 7 weeks later. I doubt The Flash will be spending 7 weeks on Earth-2, although that would be kind of awesome.

And, yes, I'm also hoping for a Flash-Supergirl race.
