Nope. There's no way this is a serious critique. Also to tenderly touch his murderous sons face was totally idiotic.
It is a serious critique. A character like Han Solo going out that way was not true to the character.

Of course, Han's character arc here in this film is utterly genius. Brilliantly written and acted. Even better, it will make viewing of the original trilogy even more compelling, watching the beginning and knowing the ending of Han's arc.
I will just say that the Han death scene is the second-best scene in the entire Star Wars franchise, in terms of emotional weight, thematic resonance, perfect scripting.
Maybe Han should have kept an emergency Rathtar in his back pocket.![]()
Han knew his son and knew what he had done. To blindly think he could turn his son after he was a part of killing billions was ridiculous.
He picked the wrong time to try and turn his son. On a catwalk during a mission. No way.

Apart from the fact they both died, those scenes could not be further apart even if they tried.Hans death reminds me of the horrible death Captain Kirk had on his particular catwalk. Another terrible death for a great character.
Han Solo already knows that one can't outdraw a Sith. He tried that, Vader just bounced the shots off his glove and than took Solo's blaster with the Force.
