Very enjoyable standalone! Hera is my favorite character and it's cool to build a whole episode around the introduction of the B Wing.

Dumb question, do we know if X-Wings exist yet or not?
My guess is another independent 'cell' of Rebels is sitting on some X Wings. (EDIT Ah yes, just read
Reverend's post above. That makes all the sense. Off to watch that Rebels Recon - cheers.)
We'll see them in
Rouge One, that's my bet. I hope
Rebels isn't cancelled prematurely to 'make room' for
Rouge One. In terms on timelines,
Rouge One takes place at the end of
Rebels, no? It has a fixed release date of December 2016. Does that mean
Rebels is limited to three seasons? Hopefully not (tugs at collar a la Rodney Dangerfield) they should aim for at least 100 eps, a number no where near to that after season three ends.
Wow!! Last night's
Rebels was great. After four semi-slow episodes in which main characters are back-benched, this action packed episode included everyone but focused on Hera, saw a new planet, introduced new characters, achieved an exciting climax and did it all in 22 minutes. Very nicely done. The first one of the season (minus
Siege of Lothal) that I watched again immediately.
Fans of the B-Wing are going to be happy with this episode... fans of Hera, too! BTW: Dear The Lego Group, I can't believe you are going to make me buy
another B-Wing!
