Fantastic episode. Like most I wasn't really crazy about the new Morgan either and thought his refusal to kill came across a bit forced and strange, but this episode did a brilliant job of not only making that change seem totally plausible, but actually kind of noble and beautiful. And by the end it actually made me love the Morgan character more than ever.

It's not just that Morgan is now trying to live by the philosophy that all life is worth saving, but he's also worried that if he loses track of that ideal, he'll revert to the exact opposite, and he'll be in "kill everything" mode again.

I think he's afraid that there's no middle ground for him. It's either save everyone, or turn into something that could be just as deadly a threat as the wolves are.

Yeah that's part of it, but I didn't get the sense it was just another thing for him to obsess over like with the "clearing" thing before. Eastman was genuinely able to restore his humanity and now this is Morgan's way of honoring and continuing that, it feels like to me.

Great episode. I've always liked the actor that played Eastman. He did a great job here.

Me, too. What a fantastic performance. A wonderful episode. A very nice change of pace, too.

Is it wrong that I was more upset to see the goat get killed than any of the people in the town?

This episode was so good I don't even care that we didn't get a follow-up to the whole Glen situation. I really, really enjoyed it.

It was a really good episode but I don't really buy into the lame notion that every life is precious and you shouldn't kill anyone.

Maybe in normal times but not in the zombie apocalypse. That shit just doesn't fly.

Hopefully Morgan comes to his senses.

Because people have very short attention spans and don't know how to appreciate a slow character building episode anymore.

I agree. I think the "all life is precious" mantra was just Eastman's coping mechanism.

No it may not be practical or realistic in that world, but it's still something those two characters clearly needed to believe in, in order to function and find some kind of peace.

And they still demonstrated that they know how to survive and kill zombies when needed.

I enjoyed the episode too and really liked John Carroll Lynch's Eastman character. It was a nice change of pace having a slow episode that was interesting and didn't have characters making stupid decisions. But.

God. Damn. It.

Glenn's alive. All the proof I needed was in the opening credits. They removed Steven Yeun's name, but, notice, the credits were off. Usually, it goes straight from Andrew Lincoln's name to Norman Reedus and from there, instantly to Steven Yeun. This time it flashed straight from Andrew Lincoln to Norman Reedus, then there was a pause, then to Lauren Cohan. They're pulling the removal of Leonard Nimoy's name from Star Trek III and Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica gag. He's alive.

I thought it was a nice touch that Eastman took the time to bury all the walkers and remember that these used to be living, breathing people.

Another question: how did Eastman know to blow his brains out after he was bitten? He said that the only way he knew the world had ended was when he went to turn himself in. I'm assuming the killer didn't turn after starving or else Eastman would suspect something was amiss before he headed back to Atlanta. Since he missed out on this knowledge and he walked 30 miles through the dead, he shouldn't know about the fact that everyone's infected (assuming Morgan didn't tell him off screen).

I experienced that, my sister really really wants to know what happened to Glenn. She wasn't happy in the least that we have an episode about Morgan now. I hate to tell her I think the next episode isn't going to address it either.

It was just a good story. Student meets kung fu master.

As much as I enjoyed the episode, I don't feel I really learnt that much about Morgan. He met a fat ninja in the woods and then finally tuned in to sanity FM.

Hmm, OK. In truth, I think this episode was filler, albeit very good filler.

Okay, I'll admit it... Just like Hardwick, I thought that Eastman might turn out to be the psychopathic killer who took the real guy's place.

Is that not still possible? We're supposed to assume that the Eastman grave was his but what if it was there all along? Surely Morgan would have given Eastman a better little plot (maybe outside the house for example). Secondly, he made a big deal about saying "all life is precious" when Morgan pushed him about what he did. Only when Morgan finds the supposed psychopaths grave does Eastman come up with a story. There's no particular reason to believe it but the possibility is definitely still there.

What odds that someone at Alexandria is familiar with the Eastman murder case and they describe the killer to Morgan... and it's a description of Eastman.

If I was living Eastman's life, I'd bury people and make cheese too. If I was living Rick's, I wouldn't. I think that's part of the picture that Eastman (and Morgan) might be missing.

Not really. The Alexandria residents were painted as naive, and delusional, so their fate was a matter of when, not if. A town full of redshirts, just like Woodbury's (and future prision) residents.

...and for those talking about the chance of pace this episode provided...that pot is about to boil over, and i'm not talking about Glenn.

Exactly. Anyone who's been watching this show for a while should know they like to hold off on answers after huge episodes like that, so they shouldn't have expected to learn anything about Glenn this week anyway.

In fact given how all the episodes overlap and are still focused on this one brief period of time, we may not learn what happened to Glenn until the story is finally able to jump ahead a bit. Which may not be until the end of the first half.

Sort of like the fate of Sophia was revealed in a mid season finale.

I thought the Glenn plot / Maggie's search would not be resolved before the mid season finale, but I would not be surprised if that was left hanging until 6B.
