The Walking Dead Season 6 Discussion

That would be stretching credibility. If his blood and guts are walker then he would be too. There's clearly a process of transformation regarding the dormant virus and the active virus. The camouflage theory would be too ridiculous to contemplate. At this point, all theories that keep Glenn alive are pretty ridiculous.

Best case scenario, the walkers are too jam-packed into the alley to be able to move down to get their mouths close enough to Glenn giving him enough time to get under the dumpster.

Even that is a zombie straw breaking the credibility camel's back though.

I'm not sure there's enough internally consistent info in order to know how the "walker camouflage" works. If it's walker guts you have to be covered in or if blood is enough.

If the blood is enough then there's a fairly easy way to get rid of a walker everyone can do, you make a not lethal cut on your body , bleed on something absorbent and then toss it at the walker and let it get distracted by the blood-soaked item and lose interest in you. Sort of like throwing a raw-steak at a guard dog.

And this is sort-of what we're dealing with when it comes to Glenn. So is just being covered in blood enough? Once blood leaves the body it's no longer interesting to the walkers?

It doesn't seem too clear on what it is that makes a walker uninterested in eating other walkers and only eating humans. In the second episode of the series it's said "they smell dead, we don't" which is... Odd. They can sense us by smell because we *don't* smell?! How do you track something that doesn't smell especially when you're surrounded by sources of strong smells?

It also seems, and would almost have to be the case, that walkers lose interest in their victims when they turn; otherwise you'd think they'd devour their victims beyond the point of being able to reanimate since it can sometimes take several hours to reanimate (granted, though, sometimes several minutes.) So somehow reanimation makes walkers stop feeding on you which means feeding cannot be linked to odor since a minutes old body isn't going to "smell dead" as strongly as an hours old one. Shane reanimated in a couple minutes, a time when, hell, his body's still going to be pretty much at normal human temperature. But he'd be uninteresting to other walkers.

Part of the "camo" in the second episode was covering themselves in entrails and even body parts.

So, in spite of me mentioning it, I don't think "walker camouflage" is what protects Glenn after reflection. I think it may just be a case of them being so distracted eating Nicholas Glenn's able to slip away under the dumpster or seize an opportunity to use the flare gun.

But the smell matter is from the Darabont era, and most of what was established about walkers was either discarded, or modified--the smell issue in particular, unless we are to believe Michonne's "pets" provide camouflage comes from odor?

Or someone rescues him by distracting and/or killing the walkers.

If anyone watches the last stand on top of the dumpster, wasn't there's an unexplored option available to the duo? The fence to the right side of Nicholas (as he faced the walker group that trapped him) seemed like a way out--by leaping to it / climbing over. We know walkers boxed them in from the front, the other side of the fence behind them, and the building to Glenn's left, but I did not see walkers reaching in from the fence to Nicholas' side. Although walkers were on the ground in front of, in such a desperate situation, why not try to jump the small distance to the fence and take what last chance they had?

I really don't want Glenn to be dead, but if they do save him you almost feel like they're going to have to sacrifice another core cast member lest people presume certain people are untouchable.

Would have thought the answer would have been just to toss some of the trash out of the dumpster (maybe towards the fence, in case you decide to try that route later), and just kinda hang out in the dumpster for a while. Imagine they'll get distracted or wander off eventually. Worst case, after you sleep it off, you can then decide whatever crazy move you want to go with. Standing there taunting them isn't going to go anywhere. They can't/couldn't get up on the dumpster, so should be relatively safe inside. From there, maybe the flare idea gets them off of you?

Good idea; Daryl and Beth were able to wait out a herd on their trail by securing themselves in the trunk of a car. Some walkers were testing / trying to open the hood, but eventually, they moved on. That would have been the best option for Glenn and Nicholas--fire the flare in the street behind the walkers, then hide. If the walkers are still hanging around in a large group (after the flare burns out), eventually, a rescue party would figure out that the missing must be nearby.

Shane once cut himself and smeared blood on a bus, and the zombies seemed pretty interested in that. Being covered in fresh blood isn't going to be cover for him.

Maybe he'll escape the zombies the same way he did last season when he was covered. We just won't see anything. Glenn will just show up back at Alexandria. :p

Did Glenn still have his radio?

Hmmm...I cannot recall if he had it in his pocket, or clipped to his belt. Or, was it in the bag dropped his bag before getting to dumpster. That' could be a significant key to Glenn escaping--or at least saved from being devoured on the spot!

No surprise here...

'The Walking Dead' Renewed for Seventh Season

AMC is staying the course with The Walking Dead and companion Talking Dead.

The cable network has renewed the top-rated zombie drama based on the comics created by Robert Kirkman for a seventh season. With the renewal, Walking Dead ties Mad Men as AMC's longest-running original scripted series. (With a 16-episode seventh season, Walking Dead would grow to 99 episodes, topping Mad Men's 92 episode total.)"

definitely NOT surprising. and considering this season (so far) seems to have best writing yet (not including individual episodes like clear), i look forward to it. i hope, however, they have a wrap up season they are working on, and can be adapted as the story changes

There is still plenty of source material ahead. As I mentioned upthread they are only at the point the comics were when the show started. There are 75 issues of story material, and counting, left to tell.

I doubt it will last that long. Eventually, Lincoln, Reedus, McBride and others will want to leave the series, and without those anchors, TWD would have a hard time trying to maintain strong protagonists, as the 2nd tier actors/characters might be interesting (after several seasons), but some are nowhere near as developed as Rick, Carol or Daryl.

This season has moved very well so far, but I just hope that with every new plot taken from the comics, it does not just transform into more of the same meet new enemy/suffer/group member death(s)/enemy defeated / move on template they've used since season 3.

Walking Dead is great but only Z Nation has
George RR Martin
as a zombie, lol. I've been surprised to find that show grow on me this season, it's not as high quality as TWD but it gets really creative with its zombie scenarios.

I like Z Nation a lot. It's the psychotronic, EC Comic, drug-addled, bastard cousin of Walking Dead. Totally off the wall.
