For you perhaps, not for me.
I'm a personality that doesn't accept change very easily...

Are you going to watch them on a 19 inch CRT television set as well?

From TrekCore's review of the Blu-ray: "Thankfully - and against all the odds - the first four seasons of the show have been mostly spared (give or take a few seconds) from lost footage which must then be upscaled. Sadly, the fifth season doesn't fare quite so well and a total of 2 minutes and 20 seconds of the original camera negative could not be found. "The First Duty" required 37 seconds to be upscaled (at the start of the episode) while "Power Play" has 1 minute 41 seconds of Ten-Forward scenes ported over from the SD."

Don't be silly, I've had my trusty 21 inch tube telly since year 2000 or so, and I'll probably keep watching it as long as it works. :)

Then there's zero reason to care about anything in high definition - Trek or otherwise.

If I ever have to go back to watching things on a 21" tube TV, you'll know I've fucked up my life. BADLY.

Is there something you don't like about HD?

    Oh me?

I have nothing against HD, I just haven't had the need to buy new "equipment", old ones are working just fine. And they might still be working just fine when the 1st generation of flat screens break down, the word around seems to be that the modern tech just doesn't last as long as the good old stuff. And... more €€€ on my account.

But the time might come in 2017 to "upgrade" when all TV broadcasts around here are going HD. No choice then but to "conform".

If Paramount found the missing footage, and released it in a complete set, I would demand they replace the disks in the season sets I've already purchased. But I'm not holding my breath for this material to appear.

The fixes that went into TNG that are now part of the digital versions on Netflix were completed back when the CBS Digital team was still together. A year later now, the team is disbanded, so I doubt there will be any further changes. The fixes that we see on Netflix were a "just throw it in" situation. The project is 100% done now for the foreseeable future.
