    In summation:

It's not every episode (yet), it's not quite the quality of Blu-Ray, doesn't include any of the features, and it's only in the US. Still, very good news for those of us still catching up to purchase the actual discs.

Are random episodes not in HD? I just did a random search through the seasons and they're all beautiful.

The TrekCore article made mention of the fact that it suspected not all of the HD episodes had been uploaded yet when they posted their article. I haven't had an opportunity to check myself.

I spot-checked two. "Tapestry" definitely is. "All Good Things..." definitely isn't.

Looking good, even the first season is watchable now to a degree.

For some reason, the lighting seemed really weird on the old versions.

We watched "Deja Q" last night and it looked pretty fantastic.

Oh... what is an example of an episode that shows off the HD conversion at its best?

FWIW, Shomi has had the HD versions of TNG episodes for at least as long as I've had the service, so there is a Canadian on-demand option. :)

I've been rewatching TNG in high definition. While watching "Time Squared," I noticed the wood beams on the windows in Riker's quarters for the very first time (while he was preparing the Owon eggs). It was both awesome and sad at the same time.

Season one had a pinkish tint on the broadcast originals. This got removed during the restoration process of TNG-R, and the picture was regraded to be more consistent with the rest of the series. To be honest I think Season One benefitted the most from the upgrade out of all seven seasons, because the original broadcast versions of those episodes were all pretty ropey quality-wise to begin with. S2-7 were generally better even on broadcast because they changed their cameras or something after season one.

    Are you sure about that?
Season 1 never looked as pinkish as the DVDs on German boradcasts.

Agreed. The work CBS Digital did was absolutely stunning.

Thanks for the info Lance :bolian:

Idk if we're talking only S1 here or not, but I think S1e15 "11001001" with the Bynars is a great view in HD.

It has a lot of shots of a starbase as well as the ship, and for season one, it's one of the best episodes that cast off that 60s rejected eps feel many earlier ones had and aged well imho.
